Tell us about your new book.
My latest book is called “Operation: Montauk.” It’s a sci-fi adventure patterned after the sci-fi pulp of days gone by. The official synopsis follows:

Lost in time after a failed attempt to kill Hitler before his rise to power, World War II soldier Cpl. Jack Mallory finds himself stranded, his whole team killed, nearly 100 Million years off course. Together with a group of other wayward time travelers, Mallory has to fight to survive in a hostile environment swarming with dinosaurs. Desperate to find a way home, the community of lost travelers searches for any solution that might send them all home and unlock the secret that shipwrecked them on the shores of time… But the jungle holds a secret from Mallory’s future-past… …and it’s out to kill them all!

What genre did you say it is?
It’s a time travelling sci-fi pulp adventure.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
Sci-fi fans of all ages. In many ways, I wrote it for my 10 year old son with all of the things we like reading about together, but I packaged that into a book that was accessible to and appropriate for kids of that age, but geared toward adult fans of sci-fi like myself.

How long did it take to write?
The first draft took two months, it was in editing and revisions for a year.

What was the most challenging part of your creative process?
Editing and revision is always the hardest part of the process for me. Ideas and first drafts are no problem, it’s crafting them into something after that that can be difficult.

Tell us about yourself.
I work across many different mediums. As a novelist, I’ve written the bestselling comedy novel “Lost at the Con” as well as the critically acclaimed “Operation: Montauk.” As a film producer, my last two films (“This Divided State” and “Killer at Large”) were released by The Disinformation Company and were called “filmmaking gold” by The New York Times. I’ve also published comic books with Slave Labor Graphics and Image Comics.

I’m a contributor to the Huffington Post, and StarWars.com and I’m the founder and editor in chief of the geek news and review site Big Shiny Robot!

Do you have a blog where readers can keep up with your work?

What’s next?
I have two books coming this year. One is the “Children’s Illustrated History of Presidential Assassination” and a sci-fi/western called “The Serpent’s Head.”
