It is cruel, but true. The writer’s sweat is only half the story.  Not even the greatest book guarantees readership. These days, when barriers to publication are failing away daily, the music of genius writing can easily be drowned out by the vast noise of the mediocre. It is not enough to be a good writer, today’s author needs to also be great at – to put it indelicately – “pimping” their work.
