Sea-Anna and Tuck have been weretiger slaves to the witches for over twenty years. But now, because their master happens to be the leader’s worst enemy, they have been sold to the beasts behind their master’s back. Sea-Anna and Tuck are separated, bought by two different beasts. Sea-Anna, who dreads the beasts more than anything, promises herself to stay strong, but not for herself, not to save her own life. She has to protect her secrets. But will she buckle under the pressure Aphalie, the world of the beasts, shoves at her? Or will she overcome the trials and become the weretiger she was always meant to be?

What genre is this?
Fantasy and science-fiction!

If you like THE HUNGER GAMES in the least, you will most definitely love my book!

It will appeal more to the young adult audience than any others (specifically the ages of 13-19), though I do have adult readers ranging from early 20’s to late 60’s!

We know we’ve been waiting for this book for ages – ever since our last interview. The Witches Sleep
It took me two years to get WORLD OF THE BEASTS ready for publication. That was a crazy two years for me. At points, I wasn’t even sure if the book would ever be ready. But, thankfully, with much support from friends and family, and a lot of prayers, it is now available worldwide!

Remind us what that other novel was called.
WORLD OF THE BEASTS is the sequel to my debut novel THE WITCHES’ SLEEP.

So this is a series?
I would suggest to first read Book One, THE WITCHES’ SLEEP, before reading WORLD OF THE BEASTS.

Introduce us to the main character.
Unlike Book One (THE WITCHES’ SLEEP), the sequel (WORLD OF THE BEASTS) is written in three different perspectives. But even so, one perspective is dominant. That is Sea-Anna the were-tiger slave’s perspective. The reader will go through all the trials she goes through, feeling the ups and downs that she feels throughout the entire novel. Sea-Anna starts off in the book as a shy, self-proclaimed weaker character. She’s been told her entire life that she is worthless and should’ve died long ago as a child because she’s a runt; practically useless to her masters. It is beautiful to watch a character that I love grow into such a lovely person through all the trials and tribulation she experiences. She learns her worth and she learns to overcome her burdens.

Another main character is Sunny, the protagonist of the trilogy. She is Sea-Anna’s best friend, even though Sea-Anna is a slave and Sunny is the Princess of their world, Raena. When Sea-Anna is stolen from Sunny in an attempt to spite the Princess, she does all she can to find her friend and save her from another world of torment. Sunny, just as Sea-Anna, grows from a seemingly dramatic, tempered teenager into a beautiful, understanding woman by the end of the book.

In both women’s perspectives, they are confronted with the same question:

What would you do to save the ones you love?

Did we hear you say Trilogy?
Right now I am working on the final book in The Witches’ Sleep Trilogy as well as a prequel novella to the trilogy!

On the side of those two works, I dabble in another storyline that’s post-apocalyptic.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Kaitlyn Deann. I live in South Texas with my family. I was homeschooled from sixth grade to twelfth, graduated 2013. I am now 19 years old, and attempting to get into nursing school, which starts in January. I’ve been telling stories since I was very young, whether through at-home productions with my cousins and siblings or through verbal tellings. I decided to try my hand at writing when I was eleven, and it became a part of me in an unexplainable way. I fell in love with writing, fell in love with the stories I could tell by simply stringing together a few words. As a writer, I hope to keep a reader turning pages late into the night and give them something to think about long after they finish the last page.

In November of 2013, my novel THE WITCHES’ SLEEP won the Gold Medal in the Fiction – Paranormal category for the Readers’ Favorite Annual Book Awards Contest. I’ve also received several excellent editorial reviews on my debut.

How easily do new storylines come to you? If we give you four random words – Man, Woman, Airport, Darkness – can you give us a brief storyline?
Here goes nothing.

It was the eighth year of the Dark One’s reign over the world. Darkness was prevalent and many died due to the negative effects it had on the Earth. Food was scarce and only the rich survived and even prevailed. The woman that the man was supposed to watch had gone farther than she was allowed by her father, the Dark One. He followed the woman into the old airport that had been shut down years ago. He wondered why she would spend time here, of all places.

How was that?
