Tell us about A Lost Kitten

Well, what would you do if you spent all your life looking for your soulmate and you finally found him, but he’s a ghost? My main character, John McCall is faced with that situation when he lands on a distant planet called Surreal. He quickly learns the true meaning of nightmare when he discovers his soulmate is of “the mist.” With a tyrant destroying his empire, and his family missing in action, John must decide whether to remain on the ghost planet with his soulmate or return to the land of the living to locate his family.

What genre is it?
My book is a paranormal romance with sci-fi elements.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
I consider my book to be a mixed blood like my characters. It contains elements of multiple genres – paranormal, romance, science fiction, and fantasy.

Tell us more about this planet Surreal and about Jasira Eversole.
Surreal is a planet within our dimension, but located in a distant region of the universe.  Twenty years ago, Surreal civilization was at its peak. One day, the Terrorshan race began their campaign to take over the universe.  Surreal was one of the few planets that would not submit.  Therefore, Surreal was chosen for annihilation. The Medlothian race intervened by casting a spell over the citizens, anchoring their souls to the planet’s core energy.  Jasira was three at the time of the attack.  As one of the casualties of war, her soul was kept from entering the afterlife by the Medlothian spell.  She did, however, grow up and continued her life but as a ghost.

It’s not clear yet. Maybe it’ll help if you tell us more about John McCall. He’s not just human, is he?
John McCall is the first-born son of Rick McCall, an Earthling, and Leonora, a feline humanoid from the planet Oceana.  Many of Leonora’s ancestors were aliens from other planets, each with their own unique ability. This mixed breeding enhanced her family tree by giving the individuals powers.  John may look human, but he was born with a special set of abilities.

Complete this sentence for us: If you like_________ then you will love A Lost Kitten.
Star Wars or Xmen.

How long did it take to write?
My book took six months to write, but many more months to polish it.

What was the most challenging part of your creative process?
The most challenging part I found, outside from promoting my book, was creating alien life forms and the worlds they live on. I have to watch a lot of movies and read many books to be able to create my version of what has been done a hundred times over and still be believable.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a wife and a stay-at-home mother of triplets. My kids are fourteen now, so they are very independent, which leaves me time to edit my other books, create outlines for future novels, and promote A Lost Kitten. I also enjoy helping fellow indie authors by interviewing them and promoting them on my website.

Your website? Tell us about it. Do you have a blog?
Yes. My blog is called, “Newbies Unite!”. It’s located on my website, which is http://www.seaanan.com.

Where can we buy your book?
My book is sold on Amazon ( US , UK ) , Barnes & Noble, and many online bookstores.

What’s next?
A Lost Kitten is only the first installment of the Sea-anan Saga, which is one part of a lengthy series involving the Royal Clan and their close friends. I have many more stories to tell. Some of them will be more in the genre of Sci-fi romance, others will be a combination like the Science Fantasy genre, and others will continue to be paranormals.
