Tell us about Dead Medium

May Elizabeth Trump disliked the company of others and death did little to warm her spirit. With a dead cat her only companion, she roamed the living world trying to come to terms with her new condition. Her path crossed that of another of the newly departed. Penny Saunders needed May’s help and May was in a unique position to offer it. For she was a Dead Medium; a ghost with the power to speak with the living and her services were to become in great demand. Spirits with long awaiting messages were not the only ones to take an interest in May’s activities. Something dark was lurking in the shadows, stalking her. Even the dead are not left to rest in peace.

How long did it take to write?
Overall this book took about two years to write during my spare time.

What was the most challenging part of your creative process?
Finding the time to write was probably the biggest hurdle I had to overcome. I like to write in a quiet atmosphere with few distractions. I had a running joke with my wife about buying a shed and putting it in the garden so I could lock myself away with the sole purpose of writing.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born in 1973 in Bromley , Kent. I first became interested in writing when I was fourteen and had to write a short story during my lunch break due an incomplete homework assignment. I sat in an empty classroom with a pen in my hand and a pile of paper on the desk in front of me. 40 minutes later six pages of scruffy handwritten text, about a man trapped in a car immediately following an accident, had appeared before me. It was the first time I had ever fallen into a story and felt it flow through my pen as if it were psychically connected to a daydream I was experiencing. I was more than bitten by the writing bug that day, i was mauled by it. I have written various short stories over the years and have even had some poetry published in anthologies but Dead Medium is my first full length novel.
