Tell us about The DISARM Series
The DISARM series focuses on Elsie Sherman and her brother’s best friend, Henry Logan. After Elsie’s brother is killed in Afghanistan, Elsie and Henry become close and realize that the attraction they’ve suppressed for years can no longer be ignored. The series is about these two people—who grew up together—finding a way to make a relationship work.

What genre is it?
Erotic or contemporary romance.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
The typical reader is female, although there have been a few men who have come out of hiding to say how much they’ve enjoyed the series. Also, military wives will most likely relate to Elsie’s experiences.

Complete this sentence for us: if you like ____________, then you’ll love The DISARM series.
A sexy hero in uniform…

What was it like writing The Henry Sessions? Is it easy to understand love, lust and life from the perspective of a man?
It was tough, a definite change in thinking that’s for sure! I don’t know that all men are eloquent and descriptive like Henry, but at the end of the day, I think men and women are not all that different. Men may not be forthcoming about their feelings, but they still feel them. They still fall in love, still feel heartbreak. So I approached it from that angle and hoped that his “male voice” will ring true.

Authors often speak about their characters as if they have lives of their own. Did either Elsie Sherman or Henry Logan grow in a way that surprised you over the course of the series, or were you totally in control of their destinies?
These two characters definitely took over. I started writing the first novelette with a rough outline, but the two characters took over and started to reveal their histories and their intentions. I know that makes me sound a little cuckoo, but these two really did take over. In one instance, I kept trying to keep Henry from saying something in the heat of the moment, but it just didn’t sound right every which way I wrote it. I finally just let him have his say and the scene finally clicked. Strange how some things work that way.

Tell us about CAPTURE. Is it really the end of the series? If you can answer this without any spoilers, how do you bring the story to an end?
CAPTURE begins with Henry tackling “the challenge” in his own realistic way, which is to say, he doesn’t go over the top with the sap. Meanwhile, Elsie is struggling with a decision that pits her head against her heart. She knows what’s best for her but isn’t sure if she has the courage to go through with it.

CAPTURE is definitely the end of the DISARM series, but this is not the last you’ll hear of Henry & Elsie. That’s all I can say for now…

That’s a relief! Readers who have grown to love Elsie and Henry since DISARM would have been heartbroken if this was the end. How do you feel now you’ve written the final book in the series – bereft or relieved?
A little of both, actually. I was relieved to have finished the series, happy to give my characters their happily ever after, but I was sad to see them go. I’ve really come to care for them, as imperfect as they are, because they are so good together. My fear is that I’ll never again be able to come up with two characters who capture people’s imaginations like Henry and Elsie.

That neatly leads us to our next question: what comes next? Tell us something about your plans for your next book. Or will it be a new series?
I have several books plotted out, but I can’t talk about them just yet. I have toyed with the idea of writing a novel/novella about Julie (who makes her appearance in the fifth book, ENGAGE) but nothing is set in stone until I’ve actually finished the story. If anyone cares to find me, I am on Pinterest, where I create visual boards for my latest novels.

Your books have been very successful. What are your marketing secrets?
I have none, honestly. I’ve tried advertising and KDP select in the past without much success, and decided I’d just release the novelettes in the wild and see how they fare on their own. Erotic romance is a very popular genre, so the series originally started selling a few copies a day by default. I remember the exact day that all changed, when a top reviewer on Goodreads.com gave DISARM a glowing review and all of her friends saw it. The sales shot up on bn.com after that and made decent sales on amazon.com as well.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a mother of two little girls, a military wife, and a certified klutz. I love to sing and dance, and working out is my therapy.

Have you got a website where readers can keep up with your work? Do you use social media?
I have a blog (http://authorjunegray.blogspot.com) and a facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/AuthorJuneGray) but that’s all. I can’t keep up with Twitter or any other social media outlets unfortunately.

Where can we buy your books?
The DISARM series is available on amazon (US, UK), Barnes & Noble, kobobooks.com and itunes.com. The boxed set is now out for $4.99.
