Tell us about The Manuscripts of the Richard Trust series.
The series, The Manuscripts of the Richards’ Trust, chronicle the adventures of Joseph Richards, who on the behalf of the American and Russian Academy of Sciences was recruited, trained, and deployed as a temporal field agent.

Bow Tie, the first of the trilogy, includes the development of the world’s first temporal device, the secret recruitment and training of temporal field agents, and the deployment of these highly gifted individuals on some very hairy missions – all to preserve our current timeline.

Recovery picks up the action to deal with a distress call that was sent, received, and acted upon.

Children of Ptah, the last of the trilogy, began with an odd name with a hidden meaning, which led to a trip back in time, all to find a man named Ptah. Meanwhile others, who coveted the Soap Bubble technology, dared to steal it – twice.

What genre are your novels?
Historical science fiction.

What kind of readers will they appeal to?
The people who gravitate to my books usually are science fiction and history buffs, but I have been surprised that there a lot of people out there who want to get lost in an adventure, one that is full of detail. Many are surprised that they actually learned something, did some checking on their own only to discover that a specific detail was real. It shocks them, which causes them to wonder “what is real and what is Memorex?”

Complete this statement for us: If you like _________, you will probably love these books.
“the works of Michael Crichton and Tom Clancy,

What is a temporal field agent anyway?
Temporal field agent = time traveler with a specific agenda, training, support, and responsibilities.

Okay, and can you tell us more about Joseph Richards?
Joseph William Richards is the only son of a Zoomie (USAF) marriage. As a result, young Richards lived in many countries, had the knack of picking up languages (German, French and Arabic), and was blessed with an athletic body. By the time he was applying for college an athletic scholarship landed him in a major university on its football team. On the sly, Richards, a declared business major, began taking courses in ancient Egyptian and paid for them out of his own pocket so the athletic staff would not know about it. Then, in a graduate level class as a senior, he is noticed, recruited, and then trained to become a temporal field agent in the employ of the American and Russian Academy of Sciences.

After his first deployment, he writes his dissertation, publishes it as a textbook, and is made an associate professor of ancient Egyptian philology. Thereafter, Richards leads a double life: one as a much-sought after teacher of an ancient language; the other, as a time traveler with a deep black organization.

What are you most proud of with this series?
This series takes the reader on an intellectual adventure, slams them up against a historical facade, and then makes them consider “what if”…

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a former university prof, who taught ancient history and archaeology. I’d like to think that I’m a well-rounded guy who likes to read, play bridge, golf, swim, and build and road race cars competitively. On top of that I’m a cheerful deep thinker, who likes to have fun and has a wicked sense of humor.
