Tell us about Rebels on the Mountain.
Rebels on the Mountain is a story of Nick Andrews, a U.S. Army spy assigned to unwrap the mystery of American diplomatic failures in Cuba. He avoids being entrapped in Castro’s Revolution until he is forced to bury his friends and fight. As the adventure unfolds, Nick becomes enmeshed in a forbidden romance with a Cuban mulata.

What genre is it?
Rebels on the Mountain is an action/adventure set on the exotic Caribbean paradise of Cuba. It is also a romance set in an age when love between the races was legally barred as miscegenation. It can
also be classified as historical fiction. The milieu is Cuba during Castro’s revolution to depose the dictator, Fulgencio Batista, and is historically accurate. Fictional characters are used to draw the reader into the story and provide a point of view of real people and real events. Critics have commented that it is difficult to know where
reality ends and fiction begins in Rebels on the Mountain.

What demographic of readers has Rebels on the Mountain attracted?
Anyone with a thirst for adventure and romance, and a fascination for exotic locales.

Michener’s Hawaii.

Have you written any other books that we should read next?
My previous books, out of print, were written for very specific audiences (readers learning English as a second language and technology). However, I have written a number of short stories that are available on my weblog (category: Trifles), VentureGalleries.com, and ReadWave.com.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a husband, father, grandfather, soldier, sailor, and author – not necessarily in that order. I was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1943, served in the Army in Vietnam, and lived in Hawaii, Colorado, and now California.
