Tell us about your new book.
My book, or my books, seeing that both of them are part of an on-going series about the working world, are a humorous description of every day events at work. Getting a job, asking for a raise, etc. But with a surreal  twist to it. Satire in short story format.

It’s called Working for Heat, which is a direct translation of a
Portuguese idiomatic expression. Meaning working to no avail. Which
represents all the struggles of a worker when facing bad co-workers,
evil bosses and incredibly stupid situations.

What genre is it?
Short-stories, humour & satire. With tiny amounts of surrealism/fantasy in there.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
People that get frustrate with co-workers, bosses and their jobs and are in desperate need of a laugh. Also I make a lot of pop culture, geek  and science references. I guess if a reader likes Terry Pratchett or silly things like the Monty Python or any britcom for that matter, they will enjoy my book.

It has been called “The Office on acids”, whatever he/she meant by
it. But it made me kind of proud.

Complete this sentence for us: if you like _________________, you’ll love Working For Heat.
If you like nonsense, you’ll love my book.

How would you like the reader to feel as they read the last word of your book?
Feeling happy from all the laughing and knowing that their job isn’t the worse.

There are other people out there like us. Who feel frustrated with all the injustice and stupidity. But mainly, I hope for a smile.

Did you say something about a sequel?
Just Working for Heat Volume II. Bigger, better and a lot more nonsense.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I work in a lab, I write at home. I use a fake name and I usually don’t comb. (uhhh, made a rhyme).
I’m a Portuguese with a British writer in his mind and he writes under the name of  Mr. Donovan Sotam.

Do you have a website where we can keep up with your work?
No yet. Well I did set up a blog, but it’s still under construction for the time being.

How about Twitter and Facebook?
Here’s my twitter handle: @DSotam and here’s my facebook link:
https://www.facebook.com/donovansotam.

Feel free to interact with me.

What’s next?
Next? I’ve finished another book. Johnny the Zombie. The tales of a zombie boy, the advantages and disadvantages of being a zombie boy. A. humour/Fantasy. book.

I also have a Working for Heat Xmas Special story lined up, due
December 2013. I’m also writing my first full novel. I’m over 25 000
words, which for a short story author is a lot.
