Synthetic Rise of the Siren is Bride of Frankenstein meets Bourne Identity meets Royal Tanenbaums.

Tell us about your book.
Kora is a brilliant amnesiac trapped in corporate limbo where she’s forced to build synthetic creatures for rich people.  When Kora leaves Mirafield on assignment for her estranged mother, Ruby, she meets her long-lost family and her true love, Vaughn.  Her memory returns, bit by bit, which allows her to solve a mystery that’s haunted the family for the past ten years.

What genre is it?
The book has unfortunately been slotted as a vampire romance, but it’s really an anti-vampire story.  Kora doesn’t like vampires and Vaughn, who is a vampire, doesn’t like vampires.  He just wants to cook and eat burritos like everyone else.  It’s really a comment on what life will be like once all these Twilight fans grow old and spend their money on buying flesh and blood vampires because we all know that’s where biotech is headed: vampire boyfriends.

So it’s not a vampire romance; what is it?
Science Fiction Horror.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
People who like campy sci-fi that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Like what?
If you like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, you’ll love Synthetic.

How would you like the reader to feel as they read the last word of Synthetic?
I want them to feel as if they’d just experienced something new, which is hard to do these days.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I work as a graphic artist/animator and write in my spare time.

Do you have a website where we can keep up with your work?

What’s next?
I want to do some kids books.  Take some time off from novels.
