Tell us about Toni’s Blues
I would consider it to be kind of a twisted love story because it tells the tale of a woman who finally realizes that what she thought where signs that a man loves her; in reality she was being abused mentally, physically and spiritually.

It is not always easy to admit, but there are men in this world who will prey on the weaknesses of women.

Toni was always choosing the wrong men, following in the footsteps of her mother. This latest one has stripped her of her remaining self-esteem and her sense of who she is as a woman.

“His fists were gone and so was I, lost among the past scenes filled with pleading cries and screams. I had done more than stumble, I fell, I was battered and bruised, I had done more than just fall, I paused and stopped it all; and here in this window is where I landed. Nothing soft about it, an Over the Top Crash landing and I was the wreckage”.

What genre is it?
It’s listed on Amazon as Women’s Fiction, but I wasn’t sure where it would fit in because it is also written with spiritual messages of faith and hope.

Oh? What kind of readers will it appeal to then?
I kind of laugh when I read this question because I remembered my first thought after it was in the hands of the publisher. All I remember thinking is that this story will probably piss some men off. (smile)

I think that  it would appeal to both men and women and young teenage girls with the hopes of opening their eyes to know the difference between love and abuse. Of course we think that it is so cute when he is jealous, but it could also be a warning sign.

Complete this sentence for us: if you like _________________, you’ll love Toni’s Blues.
Inspirational stories with messages of faith and hope and overcoming written with an edge and powerful way of displaying emotional despair, then you will definitely enjoy “Toni’s Blues” and “Through Whose Eyes:Rise, Child of God“.

How would you like the reader to feel as they read the last word of Toni’s Blues?
I think that would be different for each reader because it would depend on  if they are familiar with being abused and broken spiritually or know someone who has suffered at the hands of an abuser.  But overall I would like them to find strength and know that they are worthy to be treated with respect and to have real love.

Have you written any other books that we should read next?
I mentioned “Through Whose Eyes:Rise, Child of God” which is my first published book of short-stories. Each story is opened with a poem to set the tone for the story. It is also written with spiritual message of faith, hope and overcoming, but these are some very powerful short-stories because I took small pieces of my life and used them to create each one, so there are bits and pieces of me in the stories.

Do you have a favourite author?
That would be Stephen King his imagination is mind blowing!

What are you reading at the moment?
I recently read “The Door” by Garry Kay which was a fantastic story, loved it and I have been in and out of reading “Damaged Girls I” by Janice Ross which so far has taken me back to some of my own teenage adventures and memories some good and some bad, but that is what a writer is supposed to do.

I usually prefer not to read anyone else work while writing because I want every I put on the page to be fresh from me. I have “Damaged Girls I” to dive into when the wheels of my imagination slow down in between projects.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
There is so much about me that I know I will share one day, but for today I would like to say that I believe that God gives us not only second chances, but third and forth and fifth, etc.  To sum me up would go something like this:

I am,
A product of the foster system
Honorably Discharged Army Veteran
Battling everyday for years now: PTSD, Depression, Panic and Anxiety.

A Survivor of,
Child Abuse
Domestic Violence
Sexual Assault
Addiction

My life today is beautiful because everyday I work to break free from my past pains. I felt it was important for me to be as open and honest as possible about me because my first two books were written to help others.

Do you have a website where we can keep up with your work?

@BlueHarmonie

What’s next?
I’m currently working on two books one which I had completed and handed off to my publisher and they accepted it, but I decided that instead of doing a sequel down the road I would rather incorporate it into the first story which is entitled “Dark Harmonie”. The second book is a new project that I have been working on which will break away from the spiritual messages that I usually incorporate into my stories. I want to show a range and growth in my writing and it’s exciting to see the projects develop and grow. My goal is to have a double release for these projects.  So yes I am writing.
