Tell us about Parasites of the Universe.
Parasites of the Universe explores what life might be like in a future with few resources, countless diseases, poisonous waters, and a deadly, infiltrating sun. The story is told through the life experience of a woman who is a member of one of the three diminutive tribes that gather in a small semi-inhabitable region. It presents binding and oppressive traditions and delicate interactions between Peoples and a harsh environment.

What genre is it?
Parasites of the Universe is a dystopian, post-apocalyptic science fiction book. What is distinct about this book is that it is from an adult woman’s perspective.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
This will appeal to readers that like a good story about the human dilemma. It will appeal to a wide range of science fiction readers. It will appeal to people who search for hope amidst despair. It will appeal to readers that like well developed protagonists. And it will appeal to people who want a good story to never end.

Oh? So it’ll leave us hanging when we finish it?
When the reader finishes the last word of my book, I hope they have a feeling of satisfaction; but I also hope they have a yearning to know more.

Is there anything out there that is like The Parasites of the Universe?
If you like “The Road“, you’ll love my book.

Tell us about yourself. Who is Evelyn Moores?
Evelyn Moores lives in a rural area in Northern Ontario. She has her Masters, B.Ed, and B.A..

What’s next?
I am currently converting this book into a screenplay and I am in the midst of completing a sequel to this novel.

  1. Karen Nelmes

Thank you for giving some information on this author. I read this book and loved it. It was also great to hear she is writing a sequel and hopefully in will end with a good never ending story. This story reminded me of “Clan of the Cave Bears” , with an added post apocalyptic appeal. It was easy reading and soon as I was into the book, I couldn’t put it down.
