Aelryk’s kingdom is under attack by monsters conjured by a dark sorcerer. His only hope lies far to the west, where a powerful water elemental is rumored to dwell. Along the way, he joins forces with the Wild Elves, who were once his enemy. They alone can lead him through the dangers of the Wildlands. Together, they must journey to a mysterious land of eternal spring and return before the kingdom is overrun by evil.

Who is Aelryk?
King Aelryk is a loving sovereign who will go to any length to save his people from the evil that has befallen them. He is joined by Mel, an elf who is not inclined to trust humans. Together, they travel to find a water elemental, who is their only hope to rid Na’zora of the evil that threatens them.

What genre is this book?
Epic fantasy.

What attracted you to this genre?
For a very long time, I have enjoyed reading epic fantasy novels. It’s so much fun to escape into a new world that’s full of magic and adventure. About eight years ago, I started making notes and writing tidbits of the stories that came into my mind. Being close to nature helps awaken my imagination, and I want to share those stories with others. If I can help people escape into my world for a time and brighten their day, then my job is complete.

What kind of readers do you hope to help escape?
Readers who enjoy adventure, magic, and elves.

What’s the story behind your book’s title?
This is simply a story about River. He is a water elemental, and this story focuses on one adventure in his long life of nearly 2,000 years.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I live in Missouri at the edge of the woods. I love being close to nature and spending time outdoors. I have several pets to keep me company and have volunteered helping animals in the past.

Have you written any other books that we should read next?
I have eight years worth of material which I am diligently transforming into more novels.

Oh? So what are you working on next?
Currently, I am polishing a prequel to A Story of River. Aelryk will appear again, but he is a young prince who has yet to ascend the throne. This story will focus on the war between the Wild Elves and Na’zora.
