Two sisters.

Asha is the Queen of the Fey, genetically engineered immortal humans who feed on human souls to survive. But she’s running from her people. When she is found by her enemy, one of the Hunters of the Fey, she expects to die. Yet he’s oddly intrigued by her, and Asha finds herself falling in love with him, hoping she can find safety and the home she’s been seeking. Then she’s kidnapped, and everything changes.

Fallon is a Hunter. She’s looking for her long-lost sister, using an addictive drug to search through the stream of time. Her addiction leaves her dangerously exposed to her enemies but, consumed by her search, she doesn’t care…until her fellow Hunters start dying from a mysterious illness. She is torn between duty and desire, and must find an answer before they all die.

What Fallon doesn’t know is that Asha might just be the key to saving them all, if only she can find her.

And time is running out.

What genre is it?
Science fantasy

Science fantasy?
I think it would appeal to readers of both sci-fi and fantasy, and maybe even those who like urban fantasy and romance.

What’s the tempo of the story?
If you like heart-stopping action, characters having to make terrible choices, and characters who survive against all adversity, you’ll love my book.

You’d better tell us a little more about Asha and Fallon.
Asha is a Fey Queen and she is running from her people.  She doesn’t want the burden of producing an heir.  She just wants a home and a true family.

Fallon is a Hunter of Fey.  She begins a dangerous search for the mysterious woman in her dreams who may be her sister, as her fellow Hunters are dying of a mysterious illness. Asha might be the key to saving them.

What’s the story behind your book’s title?
The Hunters are called Fey Touched, since they have a few genes of the Fey to hunt them better.  The name made sense to me.  (There’s another reason, but that’s a spoiler).

Have you written any other books that we should read next?
Well, I wrote two poetry chapbooks: Life as a Moving Target and Without Wings, both available through Turtleduck Press.  Also, Turtleduck’s most recent release, an anthology called Seasons Eternal, has a short story of mine called “Stasis.”  It’s a neat premise– what if you were stuck in a world where the seasons never changed?

Depends on if it’s stuck on summer! Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’ve always wanted to be a writer, and graduated with a degree in Journalism from Wayne State University in Detroit.  I’ve written poetry for many years, and in 2003, I tried my hand at novel writing for NaNoWriMo.  And I fell in love!

To pay the bills, I am a secretary for a small marketing firm.  I’m married to my very own Prince Charming, and we have a cat named Hailey who is part vampire.

I love all things scary, love photography, and devour books by the hundreds.  I am currently working on Fey Touched book 2, Grave Touched.

Do you have a website where we can keep up with your work?
Yeah. http://www.erinzarro.com.

How can we follow you on Twitter and/or Facebook?
My Twitter handle is @ekendall.  I am on Facebook, but it’s a personal page.  At some point, I’ll create an author page.

What’s next?
A little flash anthology I’m tentatively calling Grim, to be released sometime soon, and of course Fey Touched book 2, Grave Touched, to be released sometime in 2014.
