My latest book  THE FARMER TAKES A WIFE is Book Three in the trilogy The Mulleins of Katherine Bay.

Katherine Bay has not been kind to the Mullein family, they have had to fight tooth and claw to gain control of what is rightfully theirs.

Heath Mullein, the youngest of the Mullein siblings is no exception. Scarred by his childhood, he’s struggled to get his education and now he’s returned to Katherine Bay to run the Family property Rata Ridge. Heath had always been warned to be careful what he wishes for….he just might get it…

When  Sarah Kreagan lands on his doorstep in the middle of a storm and asks him to marry her and to Heath it’s  a dream come true….but nothing comes easy for a Mullein… Heath knows Sarah is frightened, and that she’s hiding big secrets…. these things he can live with….but what really sticks in his craw is that His Sarah is pregnant by another man…  Her secrets and the man who is stalking her tip Heath’s orderly peaceful life on it’s ear…

What genre is it?
Contemporary Rural Romance with spice and danger.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
For readers who love cowboys… they will love the rugged outdoors men who have worked to tame the New Zealand land for generations…. these men are tough, they work hard and play harder… they are honest and treasure what is theirs… be it the land, their cattle or their womenfolk.

Tell us more about Heath and Sarah.
Heath Mullein is the youngest of three siblings…. he grew up with an ill mother and an abusive grandfather… and an absentee father.

He loves the surf and turned down the opportunity to go professional, instead returning to Katherine Bay to run the family farm of Rata Ridge. He is  a veterinarian with a deep love of the land and his animals… and always has a soft spot for the weak  and the needy… and his soft heart had landed him in more than one bad situation.

Sarah Kreagan is the daughter of a very wealthy man, and after being betrayed in the worst way a woman can be, she turns to the one man she knows has never been influenced by her father’s wealth… but Heath Mullein, the man, barely resembles the boy she knew and idolised as a teenager… how can this mismatched couple  possibly reach a happy ever after?

We can’t wait to meet them in… The Farmer Takes a Wife?
The story behind the title came about when I read a newspaper article about three children who had been dispossessed of their land by a crooked trustee and the fight they had to legally reclaim what was theirs.

Have you written any other books that we should read next?
Shadow Dance Book One… the Mulleins of Katherine Bay
Ashlyn’s Bodyguard Book two ….The Mulleins of Katherine Bay

One Hour To Midnight.
Seven For A Secret
Lovers’ Lies
Return To Totara Park
Yesterday’s Sins

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born on a farm, married a farmer and worked alongside him on dairy beef and sheep farms while we raised five children. I have always been a writer and for many years had a regular column in the NZ Herald “Country Comment” where I commented on anything of interest to countrywomen.

After years of trying to  break through the glass ceiling of traditional publishing I have gone the Indie Publishing route.

I have enjoyed all of the Mulleins of Katherine Bay, Shirley, and I love getting to know secondary characters when you give them their own stories. I look forward to many more books set in this beautiful part of the world.
