No More Makeup- Taking Off the Mask to Uncover Healing is about a young girl’s life. It addresses her struggles growing up with a father addicted to crack, a mother being abused and the many struggles she faced with low self esteem, depression and 13 years of trying to commit suicide. It is a true story of my life and how I was able to rise above the beginning of my life by developing a relationship with God, who I was always angry with as I grew up in a caustic environment.

This book addresses many issues that a lot of women go through but are too afraid to talk about and because of that they are unable to get their healing.

What genre is this? You say it’s a true story.
Christian Non Fiction

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
Women, Christians

Tell us a little more about this book.
The book is a work of non fiction so it chronicles my of my life experiences from my struggle with suicide attempts, relationships with men who were not right for me, thoughts of being a lesbian, rape and so much more that once I developed a relationship with God he delivered me from.

We don’t understand the connection to makeup, though.
One day in church, my Pastor ask people to bring things to the altar that they were holding on to, things that were helping them cope. Well, I heard the holy spirit tell me to take my makeup and I did. After that I realize that often we hold on to things to hide what is really wrong with us, we use it to cover up and hide away our true selves. Thus, No More Makeup- Taking off the mask to uncover healing was born from that moment.
