Melanie Worlds has run out of luck; no job, no friends, no future.  Desperately wanting to replace the middle-class life she once knew up on “the Hill”, her faith is being tested to the limits.

JT, her newest friend, is up to something, but Melanie isn’t sure what it is.  And then Brad, her high school crush, comes back to town.  She can’t let him know how bad it is, or he’ll lose all respect for her.  And, to make matters worse, someone is trying to break into her apartment.  None of her prayers are getting answered, and she feels all alone.

But she’s not.  Two guardian angels have been assigned to help these three humans.  The angels know God’s plan, and it’s going to take everything they’ve got to pull it off.  To battle temptation, the angels will need to instill courage; courage to dare, courage to dream, and most of all, courage to love one another.

What genre is it?
Sweet inspirational romance.

But there does seem to be a religious thread through it. Who will it appeal to?
Romance readers, Christians, people looking for a sweet love story without all the bedroom scenes.

Let’s go back to Melanie.
Melanie didn’t go to college, so her job opportunities are limited.  She’s willing to take any opportunity that comes her way, hoping that will be the break that lets her get off of assistance.  It seems like her prayers aren’t getting answered, but the angels know what God’s plan for her life is.  She just has to keep going until she finds the right opportunity, and then find the courage to take it.

Tell us about the two men in her life.
Brad is still using the high school attitude of doing what the popular kids do, but to find what God wants for him, he’ll have to do something different.

JT was raised in a poor neighborhood, by a single mother.  He had a big brother who taught him to play baseball, kept him out of trouble, and that was the best time of his life.  He misses being on a team, so the lure of joining a gang is a real temptation.

What lesson would you like readers to take from this novel?
That there is a reason why bad things happen to good people, that God wants what is best for us, and that some of our trials and problems are necessary steps we have to take to become the person we are meant to be.

How true.
Have you written any other books that we should read next?
My first novel, Stars Shine After Dark, is a sweet romance that goes beyond the wedding, into the first years of marriage.

Mona is a movie star, and Tim is a football star.  It seems like a fairytale romance, but then his career is cut short by a car accident, and they have to deal with the changes that makes, both to their careers and their relationship.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I double majored in journalism and art at the University of Missouri-Columbia.  I worked for Christian Board of Publication in St. Louis for five years before becoming a stay-at-home mom and freelance writer.  My previous books (now out of print) are St. Louis Is for Families, a tourist guide, Created In Faith, a craft book, and Bible Verses for Young Children, a coloring book.  My other current title is Day Camp in Hawaii, a program resource for leaders that can be used at a summer camp, recreational program, summer school or after school care program.

What’s next?
I also write two newspaper columns for The Examiner, a free online newspaper.  One column is about book reviews.  The other is about children’s arts and crafts, with a focus on youth groups, after school care and art lesson plans.

I like both fiction and arts and crafts, so you can expect more books in those categories.
