Secret Sister is the book of my heart.  So what? a reader will say. Why do I want to read it? You’ll want to read it if you like love stories. If you like stories about identity crisis…this one has an ultimate identity crisis. You’ll want to read Secret Sister if you like California settings, good looking women, the ties that bind us to family and loved ones, and the ties that strangle us called ‘secrets’. You’ll want to read this if you mostly want to read a book you can’t put down. It’s what I’ve heard most from reviewers, even a few who weren’t in love with it, “I couldn’t put it down!”

What’s it about? Give us the synopsis.

To their friends, Nick and Cathy Chance have the perfect marriage. High school sweethearts who’ve been together for ten years, they’ve weathered challenges and are as committed as they were when they first fell in love. Cathy trusts Nick, Nick’s world revolves around his wife, and the future looks golden.

To everyone who knows them, Cathy Chance and Roxanne Ruiz have a perfect friendship. They connected in grade school and since then have been each other’s confident and trusted advisor. Cathy loves the gorgeous Roxanne like a sister, Roxanne has fun-loving Cathy’s back in every situation, though lately there’s been tension between these two best friends . . .
And then, on a sunny summer morning, the unthinkable occurs, throwing into doubt the truth of what each of these people really know about themselves and one another.

Will Roxanne’s sacrifice be too little, and too late? Should Nick’s love for his wife be strong enough to risk trusting his heart more than logic? Can Cathy’s devotion to Nick give her enough strength to convince him to see her for who she really is?
Source: Amazon.

What genre is it?
Women’s fiction blended with romantic fiction with a paranormal plot structure. HA! Now you understand why I have 43 rejections from major publishers, most of who whined, “but it’s too complicated….”

Tell us a bit more about these characters you’ve created.
Cathy Chance is that girl you liked in school because she was nice and non-threatening. Kind of smart, not snarky, a little goofy.

Roxanne Cruz is the girl you wanted to sleep with in high school. Drop dead gorgeous, she had time for no one, everyone drooled over her, and she was soooo unhappy.

Nick Chance is a dorky Ryan Gosling. Okay, maybe that’s an overstatement. A dorky Ryan Gosling is still a god. Nick Chance is no god. He’s flawed, loyal, cute and a little screwed up. But he knows what love is, just like Randy Newman.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
Women. Men. Some cats of high intelligence. Which means all cats. Only a few will read it though. They get what Secret Sister is all about. “Words fail but the heart understands.”

Tell us a bit about yourself.
No. Mystery rocks. But I love your site. There, now you know I flatter when I want something.

And, despite everything, it’s actually working.
Have you got a website?
Yes. http://www.emellegamble.com  Yes, Emelle is a made up name.

And a very nice one too.
How can we follow you on social media?
@emellegamble and

What’s next?
What is next?

Next is next. There’s an old religious saying, “we know not the time…” Yes, it’s about death. As I age I think about that damn saying all the time. HA! Nora Roberts once read my palm. She said I needed to stop being so pessimistic. This tells you a lot about me that I can’t take advice even if it’s given by the #1 writer in the world.
