Tell us about Finding Time
Eliza and Jett Prince have what looks like a perfect marriage. They’re in love, they have four (almost) perfect children, the world is theirs for the taking. Of course, sometimes things aren’t what they appear. Those things are true, but taking care of four children isn’t easy. Eliza is so immersed in the role of mother, she feels like she lost some part of herself. There is no time for romance or even talking with her husband. And definitely no time for making love. And that has to change.

Warning: This monogamous novella burns up the pages. It’s real and heartfelt. Sexy and Erotic.

What genre is it?
Contemporary Erotic Romance.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
Finding Time will appeal to frazzled moms who feel like all they do is clean, cook, and take care of their kids. Moms who have no identity other than the ‘mom’ persona anymore. What happened to the sexy woman she used to be? What happened to dressing up and trying to get her husband’s attention?

The point of the Finding Time is for Jett and Eliza to reconnect with each other. To explore and love each other. They lost their spark along the path of child rearing, and Eliza wants it back. She doesn’t just want to be ‘mom’. She wants it all. She wants passion and spark, intimacy and her sexual life back. It’s about communication.

The general expectation in erotic fiction seems to be that sex has to be illicit and stolen to be exciting. How are you able to write about exciting love-making within an established relationship?
I think there are a lot of readers who fantasize about illicit and stolen affairs, but really, they long for the passion and fun in their own lives/marriages/relationships. Finding Time is the first novella in my erotic marriage series. The book is not solely about sex, and instead, focuses on the challenges of staying connected and communicating our wants and needs within a relationship. Sex, and intimacy, should be exciting for any couple.

When writing sexy scenes, I write like I’d want to read and see them unfold.

As a writer, how do you manage to stay dispassionate enough about your work to know when something, perhaps, isn’t working, or even to fully appreciate it when it is?
I have a key group of author friends who keep me grounded, and aren’t afraid to tell me like it is if something isn’t working for my stories. Trust is key with critique partners and beta readers, and mine amaze me everyday with their thoughts, emotions and critiques. Often, writing is a solitary venture, and to be able to share my passion with people who understand me, and genuinely want to help me succeed, is an amazing feeling.

I won’t lie, with my very first book, I had a harder time accepting criticism, but again, trust is the key factor, and it took my main CP to get me to see the issues, and to know, deep in my heart, that the critiques weren’t meant to hurt me, but to make me a better writer. In truth, it’s all about trust.

How long did it take to write?
Finding Time took me two weeks of intense writing and then edits. I published it in about 2 months or so from start to finish.

My paranormal novel, Fractured Moon took the better part of a year from inception to publishing.

What was the most challenging part of your creative process?
Believe it or not, finding the time to write uninterrupted. I am a wife and mother, as well as an author. I have four children of my own, so I know the trials and tribulations all too well. I very rarely get a full nights sleep, and often when I want to be writing I’m being pulled in ten different directions instead. My life is chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Well, okay, I’d prefer more hours in the day, a housekeeper, and possibly a nanny… oh, and a house filled with dark chocolate truffles, Lindt chocolates, Oreo cookies and homemade whoopie pies.

Wouldn’t we all! Tell us a bit more about yourself.
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. I wrote my first story when I was in seventh grade – a first person account of an entire summer. I went through a massive teen angst poetry phase, and I have notebooks and binders filled with prose.

Over a year ago, Ceithin and Aurelia from Fractured Moon showed up in my head. They yapped incessantly, and demanded I sit and tell their story. After a month or two of being woken up with harsh whispers, I started writing. They haven’t stopped, and in fact, brought friends. Now my head is filled with stories, scenes, snippets and crazy people. [Cue Law and Order music here: dun, dun.] These are their stories. I write with emotion, occasionally a temper and I let my words flow free. I dabble in paranormal, contemporary romance, erotic fiction and darker urban fantasy. Oh, and hey… I’m a Virgo.

Have you got a blog where readers can keep up with your work? Do you use social media?
http://www.erpierce.com, Facebook and Twitter.

Where can we buy your book?
On Amazon.  You can also find me at All Romance Ebooks and Smashwords.

What’s next?
I’m finishing my dark urban fantasy novella. “Duality”. About Cordelia Kelly — A dual natured empath walking a fine line between good and evil. I’m writing the sequel to Finding Time, called Finding Balance. I’m working on Fractured Moon #2, as yet untitled.
