Endurance is set in London. We follow the journey of Tom Williams, who is currently struggling with unemployment. With no parents in his life, he only has his house mates and his girlfriend, Anna Reid.
On Tom and Anna’s five year anniversary, they go out for a night in London. As the night comes to a close, Tom gets onto one knee in front of Anna in the middle of the road. As he breathes his first word of the proposal, devastation begins with catastrophic effects.

What kind of devastation? What are we talking about here?
Endurance’s main genres are horror and mystery; coming from a horror, mystery fictional writer. And it also has themes of dystopia and sci-fi.

I should probably add that it is rather graphic in places, so it may not be for the faint hearted.

We’ve been warned. Tell us about Tom.
Tom Williams is a frustrated, unemployed mid twenty year old. Tom lives in London with his house mates Stewart, Dan and Lucy. He’s been searching for a new job for some time, but with no luck. He has some money, but not much, just enough to buy a ring for his long term girlfriend Anna Reid.

Tom has grown up without his parents, who both died on different occasions, making it difficult in the past and the present.

Tom Williams has a hell of a lot of courage and bravery thought as he risks his life to save the people he loves as well as people he doesn’t know.

What else do we need to know?
Endurance is the first of two books. The first is told in two parts which are completely different; it may even seem like two different books. The second of the Endurance series is Endurance: Apocalypse, which is out later next year.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
Well I’m T. J. Blake aka Tom Blake and I live in England, Surrey and I have lived in the same house since birth.  I currently study Creative Writing with English Language and Communications at Kingston University.

In my spare time when I’m not writing for my novels or at university I work part time in a supermarket.

I’m also a big football fan and support Arsenal.

Do you have a website where we can keep up with your work?
Yeah I do, you can visit my personal blog at tjblakeauthor.wordpress.com

How can we follow you on Twitter and/or Facebook?

What’s next?
Well for me it’s just to continue writing. I will keep writing until I run out of ideas or die. I want to do this as a job and as many of you will know, it’s very competitive in the writing world but it’s such fun.

How easily do new storylines come to you? If we give you four random words – Man, Woman, Airport, Darkness – can you give us a brief storyline?
Well this could potentially be a big break for me if I was to get a book idea…
A man and a woman bump into each other in the male toilets at the airport.  The toilets close at 10p.m. and both of Jiles and Marie decide to walk into the loo’s cubical’s to do their own personal business’s at 9:59p.m.

The cleaner locks the toilets without looking inside because he’s in a rush to get home. He turns the lights out, terrifying Marie who screams.

A puzzled Jiles inquisitively asks Marie if she’s a man. Laughter erupts and the romance begins to blossom within the darkness.

That’s me having a go at comedy, any good?
