Push the Envelope is the first book in my Blythe College series. Alexa is a college student paying her way by offering Mile High Club charter flights through her dad’s company. She grew up in the cockpit and plans to follow in his footsteps after she gets her degree. Her last relationship ended badly, and she’s stayed out of the dating scene until she meets Drake. He just transferred to her school to play for their rugby team. He’s never been that interested in getting serious with anyone, but when he sees Alexa he’s determined to get to know her better and won’t take no for an answer.

Mile High Club charter flights? Where did that idea come from?
My teenage son mentioned a Huffington Post article about a charter company in Ohio that really offers Mile High Flights. It stuck in my brain and just wouldn’t go away! Somehow that connected to memories of some of my fellow students back in the day who used to fly out of the small, local airport near my college. The next thing I knew, I was writing Push the Envelope!

Tell us a little more about Alexa.
As I already mentioned, Alexa is a college student paying her way at school by piloting her father’s planes and offering Mile High Club charter flights. It just seems like worth mentioning again! She is sweet but also a little sassy. She definitely isn’t afraid to speak up for herself.

And what about Drake?
Drake is a cocky rugby player who just transferred to her school. He belongs to the same fraternity as her best friend’s brother. He’s never been that interested in getting serious with anyone, and girls flock to him like crazy. When he sees Alexa, he’s determined to get to know her better – even despite her resistance.

What genre is this?
New Adult romance.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
Readers who like alpha males, sassy girls and steam in their romance.

Have you written any other books that we should check out?
Not yet! Push the Envelope is my debut book.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I absolutely adore reading – always have and always will. My friends growing up used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing. I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.

What’s next?
My second book, Hit the Wall, is due to release on March 10, 2014. It is the second book in the Blythe College series and will be Jackson’s story.

How easily do new storylines come to you? If we give you four random words – Man, Woman, Airport, Darkness – can you give us a brief storyline?
Good one! How about this?

Already afraid of flying, the impenetrable darkness outside frightened the woman as she waited in the airport for her plane to arrive. It was bad enough that she had to take this trip alone, but the endless delays meant that she now wouldn’t arrive until the wee hours of the morning. Her gaze flitted around the waiting area, settling upon a ruggedly handsome man. His leg jiggled with impatience as he scanned the room. His eyes met hers and time seemed to stand still…
