Lone Wolf Rising is a story of a tortured teen who becomes a werewolf with the sole purpose of finding revenge on the people who killed her parents over ten years ago. Rebecca learns quickly that revenge is a costly venture as she attempts to navigate in the supernatural world that exists side by side with humans. As the story unfolds she discovers her pack was massacred days before her first transformation and because of the tragedy she is now the new alpha in a corrupt world of battling political groups, rogue wolves, and a supernatural police force.

She is assigned a protector, a nephilim named Lucky and a rogue wolf named Gabriel also joins her fight with a primal desire to protect her. She is torn between two men both amazing in their own rights and both best friends.

While her world is unraveling around her she discovers a family secret that shakes her to the core. Join her story as she attempts to balance her new supernatural responsibilities while maintaining her human identity.

It sounds as if Rebecca grows as the story progresses. Tell us a little about the person she is.
She is a strong teen who is emotionally damaged from the guilt she feels from her parents’ deaths. Her support system, Savannah (twin sister), Hunter (younger brother), and Jackson (her best friend) manage to keep her spirits strong despite her ups and downs. When she becomes a werewolf she gets another support system, the wolf personality that often offers suggestions and insults in her mind as Rebecca attempts to make a go at being the alpha wolf.

We probably need to know more about Lucian and Gabriel too, right?
Lucian (Lucky) Lamont is her assigned protector (a group of supernatural policeman that manage to protect the paranormal creatures and keep them from the human’s radar). He teaches Rebecca self defense and is playing her “pretend” boyfriend to create a cover. This way Rebecca can be protected without looking weak – which is a bad thing for an alpha to be. They both develop feelings for each other which only makes the pretend title difficult.

Gabriel Black is a rogue wolf who discovers very quickly that he is Rebecca’s mate. He was supposed to challenge her at the Authority council meeting, instead he asked to be considered as a candidate for her pack. His sarcastic manner is more of a protection mechanism than an actual personality trait and as Rebecca gets to know him she sees past his fake facade. When this happens she starts to feel attraction towards him as well.

Tell us more about the members of her family.
Savannah is Rebecca’s twin sister and where Rebecca is a pessimist Savannah is an optimist. Rebecca writes dark poems and sings them at open mic nights and Savannah reads positive self help books. Savannah is the cheer captain, straight A student, on the Student Government, and running for homecoming queen. She is Rebecca’s sunlight when the darkness threatens to engulf her. The problem is now, Rebecca can’t tell Savannah anything about her new double life. This causes a rift between them. Savannah has never failed her sister before and she won’t do it now. She starts to spy on Rebecca to discover what she is hiding.

Hunter is the younger brother, by a year. He is on the football team because he wants to live up to his father’s reputation but Hunter is not very successful on the team. His power lies in something else – something more intellectual. Neither Hunter or Savannah have any idea they are witches. All three siblings were spellbound by their parents before they were killed.

We can guess the answer to this question, but we should ask it anyway: what genre is this novel?
Young Adult Paranormal Romantic Thriller

The main character is 17, only 30 days from 18. It was written for the mature young and new adult crowd, however people from much older brackets have enjoyed and recommended this story to others as well.

It is also the first in a series of books so those interested in paranormal sagas will enjoy this book as well.

There is a lot of action and plenty of twists and turns. Many have commented on how the book is a page turner and they couldn’t put it down. They had to keep reading just to find out what happens next. If you enjoy a story that will leave your head spinning like a top you will enjoy this story.

The second book in the series is written and currently going through the editing process it will be available in the spring of 2014. The title is Vampire Princess in Training.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I have had a passion for the paranormal, supernatural, and mythological worlds for most of my life. I believe there is a kernel of truth in every story and love playing a detective to discover what that hidden truth is. I have written most of my life. I started with poems and short stories, then graduated to journalism working for online websites like examiner.com. It was only a natural progression that my love of writing and my passion for the unknown would combine. Lone Wolf Rising the first book of the Winters Family Saga is the product of that union.

I love in Arizona with my wonderful husband and two dogs; Maximus and Zeus.

What’s next for you?
I am currently releasing a short story titled Sundae’s Loss on my Goodreads blog. I am uploading a chapter a week. It is a supplemental story to the Winters Family Saga.

Lone Wolf Rising – book one has already been published. Vampire Princess in Training – book two will be released spring 2014. Fire Master – book three is planned to be released the end of this year and book four will follow into 2015.

I am also working on a new adult / adult paranormal romance titled “Telepaths and Psychopaths” – which is fast developing into another series.
