Why you must read Ifedayo Adigwe Akintomide’s Amnesiacs
Amnesiacs is a story about five strangers who wake up in a barren desert world called Nephilim with no recollection of who they are and where they came from. The only thing five of them are certain of is they must travel together to make sense of the vacuum which is their memories. So they set out together to find out the truth behind their lives. That’s an exciting premise. What happens next? What do they find? Out of the ashes of this disaster rose four cities. Absalom, the mechanical moving city; Sulphurlock, the city of chaos; Gethsemane, the land of the prophets; and the City of Light, otherwise called the Place of Revelation, where secrets are revealed. They set out to find the City of Revelation braving countless dangers, natural disasters and demonic entities to reveal a truth which shatters the fabric of time, space and might cost them their lives in the process. The biblical metaphors are apparent in the story so far; who is the book aimed at? If you like the movie The Matrix, you will love my book. Tell us about the five characters we’ll be undertaking this journey with. As he and his four companions travel, situations arise which put them in a position to put their own desires on hold in order to help others. He does this with the greatest reluctance because it interferes with his primary goal which is to regain his memories. He is a focused somewhat selfish guy whose only concern is finding out his identity. Though he does have some empathy for his Amnesiac companions. Sounds like a complex personality. What’s the secret to creating such a fully rounded character? Have you written any other books that we should read next? Another of my books I would recommend is Without a Voice which is my work of fiction based on the human trafficking scourge ravaging the world today. It is told from the perspectives of two sixteen year old girls living in Nigeria. Tell us a bit about yourself. Do you have a website where we can keep up with your work? What about social media? What’s next? |
