What if you knew the exact date and time the world will end, what would you do?

the Dome is told from alternating points of view from a man named Sam, and his teenage daughter Emma. Here is the official synopsis:

Sam Tucker was faced with a dilemma when he began getting visions of the Earth’s demise. Luckily for him, he was able to save his family and as many people as he could before the tragic event occurred, and he did so with the help of unknown visitors. With Earth now destroyed, Sam, his family, and thousands of other lucky survivors must live the rest of their lives on a faraway planet in a Dome that simulates life on Earth. But Sam’s mind can’t seem to rest as a few questions arise. Why did the aliens save them? How did they know about Earth’s sure fate? And exactly what are they hiding?

Emma Tucker begged for an escape from her boring life but never in a million years did she think it would come at the destruction of Earth. Living on a new planet and finding it difficult to get rid of her rebellious habits, Emma finds herself making friends with a member of the alien race and it soon develops into an unexplainable love; a love that is more dangerous than she could ever imagine. While her father is searching for his own truths, she has no idea that she is stumbling on a truth of her own.

Told from the point of view of both Sam and Emma, author Nova Sparks takes readers on a journey to discover love, fate, faith, truth, and the mystery of the DOME!

This is a trilogy, isn’t it? What genre is it?
the DOME trilogy is definitely Science Fiction with a touch of romance, mystery, and suspense. Because one of the main characters is a seventeen year old girl, there is a strong coming of age/new adult feel in Emma’s side of the story. She is forced to become an adult and learn about herself on a new planet. With Sam, there are loads of mystery and suspense. He is trying to figure out the way of his new home planet and the planets inhabitants. Be careful what you ask for. In the case of the DOME…seek and you shall find.

Tell us about Sam and Emma.
Oh wow, here it goes!

Sam is a thirty-seven year old “family man” from Colorado. I use the word “family” lightly. Yes, he has a wife and a daughter, but he rarely spends time with them, often enjoying other manly pursuits. Between the stress of his job and the nagging of his overly-eager mistress, being the happy-go-lucky father/husband seems a little too off the marker for him. I really enjoyed writing his character. Sam comes off like such an asshole in the beginning of the story but once certain events come into play, the readers start to discover who he really is. It is great to see him develop from a womanizing jerk and absentee husband into someone who quickly becomes responsible for the lives of the almost 5,000 humans that are left.

And Emma?
Emma is Sam’s seventeen year old science geek/drug dealing/wannabe rebellious, daughter. She spends all of her time trying her best to worry the hell out of her parents. She and Sam have always had a rocky relationship mostly due to lack of communication on both of their parts. Throughout the beginning of the series, Emma appears to be a “what you see is what you get” type of person, but as the story progresses, the readers learn that is not the case. Emma happens to be one of the most complex characters in the story. Being a bratty teenager seems to follow her to the new planet at first, but what the readers will soon realize is that she is having the hardest time adjusting than anyone. All she can do to keep it together is to try her best to hold on to her old life. But how can she hold on when she is falling head over heels for the boy of her dreams? A boy who just so happens to be a part of the alien race that probably shouldn’t be trusted. Or maybe they should. After all, the aliens did save the humans, right?

The storyscape of your series is so sweeping, so televisual in the manner of the best cable shows.
I’m a screenwriter at heart. In fact, the DOME trilogy was originally written as a treatment for a television show for HBO. Getting it on TV didn’t happen so I decided to put it out as a book series. I want to see how the world reacts to the story and so far, I am VERY HAPPY with the feedback. Aside from that, I have tons of screenplays and teleplays in the vault. Some may be adapted into books, but some others will stay what they are.

What demographic of readers has the series attracted?
If you are a sci-fi lover, you will definitely love this series. If you don’t like sci-fi, that’s fine! I don’t really love the heavy stuff, either. the DOME is light sci-fi. There are aliens, there is a new planet, there is even cool alien technology. But the story is very human and very real life. I write about real life situations in a fictional world. Science Fiction is the added bonus of this series. If you are a sucker for romance, you should definitely give this story a shot. Between Sam trying to rekindle the fire in his marriage and Emma developing strong feelings for a mysterious alien, there is enough romance to satisfy even the biggest lovesick homosapien.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is NOVA sparks and I am a young woman who was born and raised in NYC where I still reside. I plan on becoming a successful filmmaker/screenwriter. More importantly, I hope to connect with other indie authors and creators around the globe. We have to stick together. I also have a few business ventures up my sleeve that I am sure will take the indie world by storm. Stay tuned for that!

How do we stay tuned? Have you got a website?
I operate mostly from my blog.

There you can read my rantings. I write about everything and NOTHING is off limits. I also have links to my book and other author/blogger friends.

How can we follow you on Twitter and/or Facebook?
On twitter I am @NOVA_SPARKS

On Facebook I am http://facebook.com/novasparksauthor.

How easily do new storylines come to you? If we give you four random words
– Man, Woman, Mexico, Future – can you give us a brief storyline?
I come up with a new story-line every darn day. Which sucks when you’re right in the middle of completing your current series. Of course I get writer’s block every month, but after a drink, some music, and DEXTER marathons on Netflix, I get over it.

Have a drink and make up a story for us.
Man, Woman, Mexico, Future? OMG…here goes nothing.

A Man named Sam has a dream predicting the end of the world. He receives the same dream every night, even telling him where to go to save himself, convincing him that it isn’t just a dream, but something that will happen…and very soon. Leaving behind his old life of sleeping with another WOMAN and abandoning his family, he follows the instructions and takes his family and as many people as he can find to the location in his dream. Soon they are all rescued by an alien race and taken to a new planet to live the rest of their lives inside a DOME that simulates life on Earth. This can be the start of a safe FUTURE…or maybe a frightening one. This isn’t your typical New MEXICO ufo crash story!

Phew…how’s that?

Haha, very clever.
What’s next for you?
Next is part two of the series which picks up right where part one left off. Book two is called the DOMErevelation. Book one left a lot of unanswered questions and book two will definitely answer them, leading up to an explosive final installment!
