The only living Sorceress, Victoria Novak, finally earned a peaceful, normal life. But with one howl on a full moon, her whole life crashes back into paranormal chaos. The FBI show up to recruit her to the Federal Paranormal Division, the very first all paranormal police force and she can’t decline. Tori must train a new team of special agents in paranormal etiquette in the middle of solving a crime that’s leaving ravaged bodies twisted into grotesque shapes. Caught in the middle of a werewolf fight for dominance, Tori can’t let personal emotion interfere with solving a crime. Until the crime becomes personal. With her life spinning into chaos, the real question is how far is she willing to go to answer Havoc’s Cry.

Sounds very exciting.  What genre is this?
Havoc’s Cry is a paranormal crime novel filled with witty humor and deep friendship.

If you love paranormal, vampires, shape shifters, or magic in general, then you’ll enjoy Havoc’s Cry as it draws in these elements and ties them to realistic characters and settings.

Tell us about Tori.
Tori has spent her whole life in fear of vampires. Being raised in a vampire coven deep underground, normal life was far from her understanding. She ran away at eighteen and went to college. Now she’s being sucked back into the paranormal world, and she misses her life. But she feels like she belongs with the paranormals because she isn’t really human either. When Tori is scared, she makes lame jokes. When she’s excited, she bounces. And when her friends are in danger, she is an unstoppable rescue force.

You obviously weren’t raised in a vampire den – we hope! – but do you have anything in common with your lead character?
Tori is the part of me I never had the courage to embrace totally. She is all passion and drive, but she is clever. I don’t think on my feet as well as she does, and I’ve always wished I could.

Our little joke about being raised by vampires reminds us of a person we met who believes they really exist.  You don’t, do  you?
Well, not really. But I believe in legends so old that we don’t remember where men created the idea of a blood sucking, night walking monster hunting humans through their darkest fears. I believe that we create monsters to give ourselves a reason to fight and in so doing discover our own humanity. I believe in miracles.

Fair enough. The good news for Tori Novak fans is that there’s going to be a sequel. What can you tell us about it?
The sequel to Havoc’s Cry is called Archangel’s Salvation and should be available in August 2014.

We can’t wait.  Tell us a little about yourself.
I am an engineer for an oil company as my day job. I love crazy sports and have my black belt in Tae Kwon Do, master SCUBA diver certificate, and motorcycle license. Although engineering pays the rent, I write because I love to hear and to tell a good story. I picked the paranormal genre because I love the meshing of reality and the impossible.

How easily do new storylines come to you? If we give you four random words – Man, Woman, Mexico, Future – can you give us a brief storyline?
Stories are spontaneous, and often swirl around in my subconscious for days before they actually make themselves known in the front of my head.

So if I were to create a story from those keywords, I’d see a brother trying to escape out of Mexico back into the US to find his estranged sister before the men that are hunting him can connect them together.

Once the man finds his sister, the two have to flee if they intend to have any kind of a future free of the men chasing them. Somehow, he has to tell his sister why they’re running for their lives. But that admission could change her perception of him forever, and he’s not sure he’s ready to tell her that he’s a highly skilled assassin who just took out the wrong target.
