What genre is it?
The Donahues can be categorized as many things. It is obviously a YA contemporary romance, however it also has elements of the family drama, of the summer beach story, the high school story, mystery and much more!

Tell us about Emily.
Emily is sixteen years old. She has some girlfriends but is completely loyal to her best friend Stephen. She is rebellious, adventurous, but still needs to help herself find herself. She’s had a tough past not only loosing a father but discovering she has also lost a mother. She’s sentimental but strong and open to new experiences.

Stephen, her best friend, is a year older than her. He wants the best for her and isn’t afraid of telling her what he speaks. He’s smart, very good at science and math but also active and fit as he plays on the baseball team.

Have you written any other books that we should read next?
Not anything published although I am a contributor of theinternationalpassion.com as well as the writer and sometimes director of the web series Firsts (channel: thewhyw) which can be found on You Tube.

In my opinion there is nothing better than a good story! Spanish background which is why my name is spelled Ayelen but pronounces (Ash-lyn).
