All Kathleen McGillpatrick has ever known was poverty. The daughter of the former Earl of Kilmore, all Kathleen ever wanted was a peaceful life. Death and destruction have been her constant companion as her older brother, Bailey, leads a rebel army against the new lord of Kilmore, Earl Isaac Turner.

One day, Earl Turner meets Kathleen and instantly falls in love with her. Bailey has a plan. Since Isaac is so in love with his sister perhaps Kathleen could reclaim the estate through marriage. There’s only one problem. Kathleen despises Bailey and has already given her heart to Isaac. Torn between her family duty and the love of her life, Kathleen must chose to honor one or the other in order to stop Bailey. Or risk the destruction of her entire world at the hands of Bailey McGillpatrick.

What genre is this?
Historical Fiction.

And it’s set in Ireland, right? Who will enjoy this story?
Anyone who is interested in Irish history, family dramas and historical fiction. Bailey’s Revenge is full of so many twists and turns anyone who loves to read a page turner filled with action and adventure will love this book.

Tell us about Kathleen.
Kathleen  – Devote Irish Catholic, daughter of deposed rulers of Kilmore, naive, honest, hates injustice, she loves her family heritage but would rather spend her life in poverty if it meant there would be peace. Kathleen never expected a man to fall in love with her because her face is riddled with smallpox scars along her cheeks. She is a dreamer who loves to paint.

But it’s her brother, Bailey, whose name is on the front cover. What’s he like?
Self-centered and egotistical, Bailey never did well when his family lost their money, power and position. All he wants is to return to the life he has as an Earl’s son. Bailey is a broken man. He loved his wife and children dearly but could never show it to them. He demands discipline and order in his life even if that means he must use any force necessary to gain it.

We noticed that this is the first of a series. Have you written any other novels?
Yes, Calico (Children of the Shawnee: Book 1) is the granddaughter of Kathleen. I am writing a family saga with four different series that will tell the story of the Turner women’s journey from Ireland to the United States. It will follow Kathleen, Ann, Calico and Calico’s daughter. The story of four generations of women from Ireland to Colonial America.

We’ll look out for it.
I have a passion for writing. I love telling stories and creating new worlds.

I live in Indianapolis, Indiana with my husband and our Australian Cattle Dog. I am originally from Marion, Ohio and my husband is from Marfa, Texas. In my spare time I love to read, travel, go camping, hike and spend time with my husband. I hold a MFA in Creative Writing and have written several books.

What’s next?
I’m currently writing a historical fiction book called Field of Grace that is loosely based on an event that happened in my family. I plan to write the first book of New Hope (Kathleen’s daughter’s story), the second book of Children of the Shawnee, and the first book of the Cherokee Tears series.

How easily do new storylines come to you? If we give you four random words – Man, Woman, Mexico, Future – can you give us a brief storyline?
A man and woman marry but are rudely interrupted at the reception when the Mexican army demands the groom must serve in the military or else. He’s plucked from the ceremony and sent away. His wife is unsure of what will happen to him. There has been rumors the Mexican army has been recruiting more people in order to experiment upon them for the cyborg program. She tries to rescue her beloved in order to save his life. But how can she save him when he’s hooked up to a machine and if he’s ever detached from it thousands of Mexican people will did. He’s EL SALVADOR – The Savior of Mexico.
