A Richmond, Virginia paralegal Hadley Beckett and her sportscaster/daredevil boyfriend Finn Wilder try to make things work and to reach a middle ground in their three-year relationship. Hadley wants more: marriage and kids. However, Finn does not.

Finn pressures Hadley into moving in with him, but being traditional, she wants to be married first and she wants to stick to her beliefs, just as he clings to his own. On the other hand, Finn has tolerated Hadley’s stubbornness long enough and he’s reaching his breaking point.

Fearing at 33 that she will soon be too old to have kids, Hadley wants Finn to change his mind and marry her, yet her insecurities about his public life and from his constant rebuffs have her questioning her aspirations. With conflicting advice from her friends, Hadley concludes she should take things into her own hands; though, as does Finn.

This is a romance story, right, even though it’s many women’s nightmare!
Adult contemporary romance.

I love romance, but I don’t overly sugar coat it. I love realism and humor in my stories.

Tell us more about Hadley and Finn.
Hadley Beckett is a sweet paralegal and she’s in love with her boyfriend Finn Wilder. She wants more with him, but he wants to maintain the status quo, in the context of staying unmarried. He begs Hadley to move in with him, but she wants to stick to her principles and for Finn to marry her before they move in together. Hadley trusts only a few people, but is having problems trusting Finn completely, since he has yet to tell people that he’s been dating Hadley for three years. None of his coworkers even know he’s taken. He perpetuates the perception that he’s single, which his fans, or Finnatics as they’re called, love.

Finn Wilder honestly loves his girlfriend Hadley, or his “Becks,” as he calls her. He’ll do anything for her, except marry her. Finn is a ferociously private person, despite his cocky and charismatic public persona. He’ll also do anything to keep Hadley away from his spotlight, even if it means hiding her completely. He tries to convince Hadley to move in with him without getting married, since he, too, wants to stand by his own beliefs.

There’s an interesting cast of secondary characters in your book. Tell us about them.
Morgan Yates is Hadley’s lawyer coworker and best friend. She thinks Hadley is too good for Finn and needs to move on since he’s unwilling to give her what she wants.

Greg “Rod” Rodwell is another paralegal in Hadley’s office and also a close friend of hers. He thinks Hadley should do what she wants, as long as she’s happy. He tells her to talk to Finn and try to keep the lines of communication open. He’s also her comic relief when she’s stressing about Finn.

The good news is that this is part of a series, right?
The story continues in “Daring the Wild Sparks,” and “Igniting the Wild Sparks.”

I’m currently working on a novella that will be related to my Wild Sparks series. I hope to make an announcement regarding it soon!

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m originally from West Virginia, but currently live in Detroit, Michigan. I have a B.S. in criminal justice that I don’t use, and I’ve always wanted to be a writer. I just wasn’t brave enough to attempt publishing anything, or even had the know-how or technology to do so.

Do you have a website where we can keep up with your work?
I’m working on it.
