This is a story of fate, serendipity, mistakes and their repercussions.

When Philip Doukas, a rare wielder of light, visited a frightened African man in a cave in Zimbabwe, he thought he would be helping him come into his true power as a psyche wielder– able to connect with the Universe and see all possible futures.

Instead, the psyche wielder gave him a terrible warning about a mysterious human whom he saw in Philip’s future:

“She will destroy you.”

What happens next?
Five years later, Philip finds himself face to face with her and, haunted by the warning, decides to confront his destiny; destroy her before she destroys him.

Meanwhile, a sadistic flesh wielding assassin is on a secret assignment to find and kill a mysterious human, and back in the cave in Africa the psyche wielder embarks on a desperate journey, after he realizes his warning had been wrong and that it will lead Philip down the road to darkness and destruction he so wants to avoid.

Oh wow. That’s exciting.
What genre is it?
Wielding Crimson is an urban fantasy-paranormal story, with romance, adventure and mystery mixed up in there. All the genres I love.

It will appeal to young adult and adult readers, both men and women.

That’s pretty much everyone on the planet! We know you wouldn’t want to narrow your audience, but can we be a bit more specific?
If you like escaping from reality, you’ll love my book.

We guess that’ll have to do.
We don’t know any character names yet.
There are four main characters in ‘Wielding Crimson‘ who each have chapters from their own point of view:

Philip- A light wielder, who is drawn to a mysterious human woman who he was warned would destroy him. Knowing this, he decides to destroy her first, but by doing this he might just fulfil the prophecy he wants to escape.

Layla- A human who is caught between her desire to escape her own life and the dangerous world of wielders that she has, unknowingly, entered.

Orestes- A dangerous, flesh wielding assassin, who is on a mission to find and kill certain mysterious humans. His connection to Philip is closer than meets the eye, though, and soon their paths meet, causing them both to do things they might regret.

Induna- A rare psyche wielder with the ability to connect with the Universe and see possible futures. He was the one to give Philip the warning about the girl who would destroy him, but years later he discovers he was mistaken. Wrought with guilt and fear, he begins a journey to find Philip and stop him.

All my main characters come to the point where they have to make decisions that might alter the course of their lives, one way or the other. But the most important aspect, is how each of their decisions affect each other.

Which character do you identify with the most?
All of my characters have a bit of me in them. I spent five years writing and re-writing ‘Wielding Crimson‘ and throughout that time my life went through some major changes. I changed, and the characters changed with me.

And how do you feel now that journey is over – or is it not over? Will there be a sequel?
Wielding Crimson‘ is the first book of a series that I have planned -in my mind. I have already started work on the sequel, so expect it to hit the shelves soon.

Tell us about yourself.
I am a half-Greek half-Zimbabwean who has been raised in two very different, very beautiful cultures. I have always loved reading and making up stories, preferring to live in my imagination rather than the real world, more often than not. Eventually, I discovered the joy of writing and I embarked on the journey that has been ‘Wielding Crimson’.

I am a dreamer, a fantasy lover and an imaginator extraordinaire…

How easily do new storylines come to you? If we give you four random words – Man, Woman, Mexico, Future – can you give us a brief storyline?
In modern day Mexico, a young man stumbles upon an ancient relic in the archaeological site he is supervising. Closer inspection reveals it to be the continuation of the Mayan calendar that ended with the year 2012. Despite his desire to flaunt it for the world to see, something catches his eye; an inscription detailing how the world will end. This time for real.

With the help of a Mayan woman, an expert in the ancient language, they embark on a desperate journey to stop the prophecy from coming to pass and to ensure that humankind will have a future.
