Skye is in her first year of college and when she starts her second semester, she literally collides with the TA in her psychology class. She’s a very closed off girl, skittish and quite depressed. That guy, namely Duke, immediately sees that she’s not just shy, it’s something else entirely, something bad.

Something bad? We were expecting a nice, light romance.
This book is dark at times, but it’s mainly about hope, about how sometimes the right person can help, how can two people patch each other up.

Tell us more.
While Skye doesn’t want to connect with Duke, he persists and at some point they bond. It’s slow, painful and whenever they’re taking a step forward one of them takes two backward. After all, when two people are so broken, are suffering so much, isn’t it the norm?

That’s so true – and so scary.
Hopefully, my lame attempt at talking about PATCH UP isn’t making you run up the hills.

No, not at all. What genre is it?
It’s a New Adult Contemporary novel, but if you’re looking for a sexy story, it’s probably not the right choice.

If you like dark stories, if you enjoy reading about flawed and broken characters, then I think you should give it a shot.

I’ve been told — I swear it’s not my own words as I’m a huge fan of these authors and I would never be able to come close to their talent — that if you like Hopeless by Colleen Hoover and Easy by Tammara Webber, you’ll love my book.

My goodness, if only I could write like these amazing ladies!

We have to trust what other readers say – as do you.
Tell us about Skye.
Skye is a freshman in college. She decided to follow her high school sweetheart to his college’s choice, but unfortunately, he dumped her only after a week within their arrival. But what should have been a new beginning for her is just more hellish months. She can’t forget about him, Sean, even though he abused her repeatedly. Not only she can’t forget her feelings for him that easily, but she also can’t face the fact that she never said anything about his behavior, anything to how hurt she was and still is.

Then comes in Duke. He’s a tall dark and handsome young man, TA in Skye’s psychology class. He’s got many tattoos, dark messy hair, dark intense eyes and he sets his mind on piercing Skye’s shields.

Skye doesn’t understand why someone she doesn’t even know would want to help her when she’s obviously hell bent on pushing him away, but there’s something to be said when two broken people meet. They can help each other and they easily connect because they understand what real pain is and how it makes you feel.

Have you written any other books that we should read next?
I have a New Adult Contemporary Romance coming up late June. It’s openly sexy, sassy and light and the kind of read supposedly enjoyable on a sunny day while lazily tanning. Hopefully, you won’t be disappointed! So, keep your eyes peeled in June for “2B Or Not 2B?”!

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a twenty-something French woman who has too any ideas and too little time to make them into books. I’ve loved reading since I was a little girl and I discovered in high school how writing is more than just a hobby for me. I have a passion for Rock and Pop Rock music, for museums and TV series. I laugh while watching Horror movies, I’m clumsy and I have a fetish for polish nail.

Do you have a website where we can keep up with your work?
I have a website and a blog. I think you’ll find the blog a little more interesting: http://stephanie-witter.blogspot.com

What’s next?
I’m currently finalizing the sequel of PATCH UP and the spin off that will be all about Kate & Derek, two secondary characters very important to Duke and Skye.

Then, I will have to decide which book idea will be my next WIP. Though, before that I should probably work with my beta readers on a NA Contemporary Romance standalone novel I recently finished writing.

I have many, many writing projects so it’ll depend.

How come you have that much work in waiting?
My ideas come at the weirdest time. Sometimes it’s just the background of a couple of key characters, sometimes a plot twist and then I build everything from there. I need a couple of weeks to put my ideas in order and I write everything down on a notebook. I have quite a collection of notebooks, you can believe me!
