Why you must read Steven London’s The Inconceivable Adventures of Cabbage Boy
There goes summer vacation! The Inconceivable Adventures of Cabbage Boy is a classic superhero comic inspired chapter book series aimed at the seven to 11 crowd. The story follows the adventures of nine year old Ralph Spitzle after he gains a remarkable (and inconceivable) super power following a brush with a cosmic space orb on the night before summer holidays. Ralph’s new power – super flatulence – comes in handy as he battles an evil super villain bent on controlling Ralph’s town. Super flatulence?! Tell us about the drawings. They’re great. The illustrations are by an accomplished Marvel Comics illustrator – Scott Reed – and are meant to reflect how a nine year old would see themselves as a super hero. What kind of readers will it appeal to? Will there be more Cabbage Boy stories? I expect to have Book 2 out in time for the holiday season. Tell us a bit about yourself. I have a hard time just sitting around. I grew up reading superhero comics and spent many hours as a kid designing costumes for my various superhero personas.
