Violet Midnight introduces The Enchanters, a unique race of humans who can manipulate the elements. The first book centers around Elias and Jane, a destiny of a couple who are brought together by a string of unfortunate, and dark, events. And so begins the paranormal “masterpiece”, as it has been called by readers.

High praise indeed. What kind of readers? Who does the novel appeal to?
It would appeal to all readers of paranormal romance, any reader looking for something unlike they’ve ever read before, and YA and NA fans that seek something a bit more mature.

Like what?
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen.

You say it’s about Elias and Jane. Who are they?
Jane is the most powerful of her kind due to her bloodlines. Book two, Emerald Destiny, spills the beans on why, through the perspective of Jane’s ex-boyfriend of eight years, Christian Reed (who is also the most powerful in his family). In Violet Midnight, you get to see the two fight together, and it’s like magic.

Elias is a damaged human being fighting demons forced upon him by his disloyal parents, and has to navigate a world unknown to him with the help of his soulmate.

Jane is like me in some ways, not so much in others. She is kinder and more caring than I could ever give myself credit for. Though like me, she hates cake.

How can you hate cake?!
You mentioned Emerald Destiny. This is a trilogy, right? When will book 3 be published?
All three books in The Enchanters trilogy are available, and my standalone literary novel, Paper Souls, is due out in October 2014. I also have another trilogy I’m writing next year.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I hate this question (most writers do), so I’m just going to weave a bunch of useless information together: I strive to be the most positive person I can be, and to evolve on a daily. I love cats and Nikes and a good dark fairytale, and I like it when people laugh at my jokes, even though most of the time I’m not being funny on purpose. I have a typewriter that was used in World War 2 that my brother picked up for me (it still works). Oh, and my great-grandfather was a serial killer.

What?! Our readers will slaughter us if we don’t dig deeper into that! Actually, on second thoughts, are you on social media so they can ask you questions directly?

What’s next?
The future holds great things, I would hope, but immediately next on my list is a dystopian trilogy. My brother, the zombie nut, has read the first few chapters, and is already enamored with it.
