Flawless romance novel

Kathryn is a 27 year old single mother, trying to do her best to raise her daughter in a world filled with evil and deception. Her marriage is difficult. Her husband is angry, jealous, accusatory, and possessive. He stalks her while he’s alive, and he haunts her after he’s dead. What else should she think when a form resembling her dead husband materializes before her, wearing the same clothes she last saw him in when he stalked out the door?

She doesn’t even believe in ghosts.

She’s concerned that she’s losing it–as in get-the-straitjacket-because-this-brain-is-done kind of losing it. To add to her confusion, a handsome stranger rescues her from a killer dog and an entire slew of memories and odd images plague her. She is bewildered as tiny pieces of a life she forgot and a past love that maybe existed are exposed–and none of it makes sense.

How much pressure can a girl take?

What happens next?
When an old enemy threatens to steal everything Kathryn values and loves, the handsome stranger reminds her of the power inside her that time, trauma, and evil sources stole from her. She must decide: will she use the force within her to fight the biggest battle of her life or will she give in to the evil taunting her? To win, she will gain freedom from the chains that bind her and win the man she loves— the man who is the key that unravels her past, restores her present, and defines her future. To lose, it will cost her everything— including her destiny and her soul.

We cannot quite guess what genre this is.
Romance.

But there’s more going on here than in just a plain old romance story.
This book is for readers who enjoy romantic suspense with excitement, suspense, emotional entanglements, overcoming challenges, paranormal, and steamy love scenes.

Can you tell us anything more about this handsome stranger?
Jared Williamson is handsome, strong, and protective of Kathryn. He knows her from years ago, but she doesn’t remember him; she only remembers bits and pieces of a man who once meant something to her. Jared is a former Navy SEAL, a project manager, and an expert in spiritual matters. His pregnant wife was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver 5-6 years prior to the story.

Is there anything else we need to know about Kathryn?
90% of Kathryn is based on me, including the emotions, the insecurities, and her career. I’ve heard that it’s best to write about what you know, and I know ME pretty well!

We hope you do! Tell us about yourself.
I am a Jesus-lover, a wife, a mother, a pastor, a worship leader, and an author. I love to read great books and hate to put them down once I start. I remarried my first husband twice–and divorced him twice, so I know a lot about failure and brokenness. However, I’m now married to a wonderful, beautiful man, whose character is that of Jared in my book. Many scenes in the book are based on actual conversations I had with my husband. The amazing part is that I finished writing this novel in 2009 and didn’t meet my husband until 2010.

Wow.

What’s next?
I hope to have my next novel completed by November 2014. It’s called “The SIA: Are you Haunted?”

What’s it about?
It’s about a ghost hunter who doesn’t believe in ghosts. She is called back to her hometown, which carries a deep and terrible secret. She must set the town free from the horrors that haunt and threaten to destroy the place she loves.

How easily do new storylines come to you? If we give you four random words – Man, Woman, Mexico, Future – can you give us a brief storyline?
A woman is stranded on dirt road in Mexico, the last dirty, little town miles behind her. After walking for miles, exhausted and hungry, she stumbles upon a small diner. She enters, focused on the bathroom, desperate to wash the dust off her face and hands and get a bite to eat. Feeling somewhat refreshed, she climbs onto a stool at the steel counter. Glancing around, she wonders at the lack of customers.

She fingers the locket at her neck, a nervous habit that brings her comfort. A man approaches her and hands her a menu, his eyes on the locket. His eyes grow big and he runs out the side door. She glances above the door the man exited to see a large portrait of a beautiful woman. She steps closer and squints in amazement at the locket that resembles hers—the eyes are hers, too—and the hair…

“La profecia—it is true,” a deep voice says from behind her. “Our future is here.”
