Living With Alcoholism & Addiction: The Elephant in the Room has the same dimensions of a coloring book and the chapters have a focused simplicity on personal recovery.  This book is for anyone that has ever had to live with someone or been impacted by someone that has an addiction.

How does it focus on personal recovery?
There are simple tools of thought that we can use that help alter our own behavior and the behavior of others.  So often the fingers are always pointed towards the addict when there are three fingers pointed back towards us.  In addiction, everyone close to the addict becomes part of the problem.  The purpose of this book was to cut out any confusion on recovery and get right down to the core.  Say what you mean and mean what you say.

It’s a very honourable objective.
I’m into personal recovery.  Every lesson I have learned along the way I try to incorporate into a book to pay it forward to others.  Knowledge isn’t about ownership, it’s about sharing what you know and finding a way to have it delivered in a way others will understand.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
This book in particular is a very targeted audience.  I took a risk on writing this.  It’s not a dominant market for people seeking support.

This is the book I wish that someone would have written for me when I was in that situation.  Sometimes dealing with the hardest things are simple, but we have other factors that come into play or influence that over complicate the issue.  I like to think of it like this, if you are drowning in a tub of water, you can do one thing to help yourself, just get up!  It’s that simple.

Tell us what your life is like now.
I am a very simple woman.  I have been married now for 14 years, my husband and I have 4 beautiful boys.  I’m an artist and an author.  I can wear a lot of different hats and I enjoy taking on new experiences.  The more experience I have or acquire, the more I am able to be inspired, write, and share.

Have you written anything else?
I have a couple of popular books out there, Stop Complaining: Guide to Living Life Instead of Complaining About It and Recognizing Unhealthy Relationships: Guide to Healthy Love & Self Discovery are the most popular here in the States.

Everything I write is about how to get “better” with living and how to be happy.  If what we have around us or within us doesn’t make us happy then we need to take a good hard look at the reality and from there be willing to make improvements.
