BEYOND answers the question, “What would happen if an alien space ship took you from your back yard?”

In this case it’s made entirely plausible.  Aimee Patterson takes her dog for a walk in the woods and she is accidentally taken by a ship that trolls the galaxies in search of a cure for the virus that plagues its people.

With five years remaining until she can return to Earth, Aimee does not curl into a fetal position and cry. She accepts her fate and decides to learn from it.

So it’s not aimed at nerdy sci-fi enthusiasts – it’s more for young adults?
From the responses I’ve received there has been a broad audience that has enjoyed it. You don’t have to be a young adult to wonder what it would be like to be taken from your back yard on a wild adventure in the stars.

Very true. So is Aimee a young adult herself?
Aimee Patterson just graduated high school and she is about to start college. She is a ‘thinker’.  It’s the engineer in her. No machine is too grand for her to figure out.  She was a clarinet player in the marching band and she is a bit of a loner.

You say this is also a love story. Sounds like there’s someone else we need to meet.
Zak is a warrior from another planet. He was orphaned at a young age when his parents were killed by the dreaded Korons.  When Aimee stows away on his Terra Angel, he has no choice but to deal with her.

How would you like the reader to feel as they read the last word of Beyond?
Wow.

I played clarinet in the marching band. I’m a geek like Aimee. My first endeavor into writing was at 10 with my mega-hit, SUPER WATERMELON MAN.  Well, it was a mega-hit in that classroom. Many years later I wrote my first full-length novel, WIDOW’S TALE, which was nominated for a Golden Heart by the Romance Writers Of America.
