Kate Robinson has spent the past two decades yearning to find her soul mate, the boy she found and then lost during a family holiday. Shortly after her twenty-eighth birthday, however, she inherits a fortune from an old family friend and becomes something of an overnight celebrity. Can her new-found fame lead her to him after all this time?

What genre is this?
Forever Fredless is my first foray into chick lit, after having written six YA urban fantasy novels.

Six? You’ve been busy!
Yes! I have six other books out there. All in the YA urban fantasy genre but the majority of my readers are probably the same age as my chick lit readers!

And what demographic is that?
Although it is primarily aimed at adult women of any age, I have been told that teen girls will love it too (there’s not really any sex and very little bad language!).

If you like Bridget Jones Diary and Confessions of a Shopaholic, you’ll love my book.

Tell us a little more about Kate.
After meeting the boy of her dreams when she was a kid, Kate Robinson can’t get him out of her head and for the next twenty years or so she compares all other guys to him! So I’d say she is a bit of a dreamer.  But she’s a really good pal, is very sensible and reliable. She’s the kind of girl you’d like to have for a best friend.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I have worked as a journalist, assistant editor, features editor and magazine editor. When I was made redundant a few years ago I began writing full time.

Although I’m a Yorkshire lass at heart, I left my home town of Rotherham, UK, to move to Portugal with my family when I was ten. The Algarve continues to be my home, where I live with my childhood sweetheart and husband of 15 years, Michael, and our two neurotic dogs and a cat who thinks she’s a princess.

We love the Forever Fredless cover, by the way. Who designed it?
Ravven… she is so amazing that I always want to tell everyone about her! You can find her at www.ravven.com.

What’s next?
Lots more! I’m about to start working on my next chick lit book, and I’m mid way through my next YA urban fantasy book too (part of the Morgan Sisters series). My head is absolutely swimming with ideas.

But for the next month or so I’ll be really busy working on a short film based on one of my books. There’s a bunch of amateur filmmakers, volunteers and myself working together to try and create something special. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will work out brilliantly. I can’t wait!
