Andrew Madsen is a vampire. He falls in love with Nina, even though he was only suppose to be protecting her because of her rare and special ability. She is the key to changing the world.

William Madsen is Andrew’s brother. He is also a vampire. He falls in love with Caroline, even though he was only suppose to be protecting Nina because of her rare and special ability. William got distracted with Nina’s sister.

Tell us about the Mckays. It sounds like there’s more to them that it first seemed.
Nina McKay is suffering with depression and trying to cope with the loss of her father. She desperately wants to find her happiness is life. That’s the only thing she wishes for nowadays. She is such a strong person, but doesn’t ever give herself enough credit. She is protective of her family and is always putting them first, even before herself.

Caroline McKay is Nina’s sister. She is more of a follower than a leader. She likes to try to fit into everything rather than stand out and be herself. She is the ultimate girly girl. She’s a cheerleader and loves going to football games and parties.

We like asking authors how much of themselves they put into their characters.
I was struggling with depression and anxiety when I started writing Dark Love. Nina portrays me in so many ways. The strength she has is the person I wish I could be!

Writing “Dark Love” truly saved my life. I was struggling with depression and anxiety when I discovered that I wanted to write a book. I didn’t have any idea what the book was going to be about, but I knew I wanted to accomplish finishing a novel.

When I began writing the book, all the words came out naturally, like I was born to write. I’m proud of myself for actually being able to finish a novel.

Without “Dark Love” I would probably still be struggling with severe depression and anxiety. I was lost for a while, but writing saved my life, it truly did.

That’s amazing. Novels can be such an escape for us readers that we sometimes forget that they’re therapy for you authors too.
