The King’s Ransom” finds Robin, the hero of “The Lost King,” at sea both literally and figuratively. At first directionless and purposeless, he determines to reunite with his sons and with them restore his shattered kingdom but Fate has different plans for the lost king. Driven far from his home in the Chalklands, Robin pits his will against a dragon, a fortress’s duplicitous and deadly guards, high winds on the open water, and a horrifying sea monster only to meet his most formidable opponent.

What genre is it?
It’s a literary fantasy.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
Readers who don’t normally read fantasy fiction.

Tell us a bit more about your main character.
A beloved and respected ruler, husband, father, and dragon slayer of renown King Bewilliam awakens one morning to find himself inexplicably in a cow pasture,  a homeless vagabond. All he has owned, everyone he has loved, and everything he has done are gone. Can he get it all back, be King Bewilliam once more? If not, what is left for him?

Have you written any other books that we should read next?
I will start Book Three of “The Bewildering Adventures of King Bewilliam” in November, 2013.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I write novels, manuals, smartphone apps, blog posts, and newspaper and magazine columns. Whatever I’m writing, I strive to entertain, to inform, and to inspire. Born in Brooklyn, New York, I now live on the Texas Gulf Coast with my Significant Other and The World’s Most Handsomest Kitty. On the rare occasions when I’m not writing, I dabble in glass painting and etching.

I’ve been invited to write a play about King Bewilliam. I’d also like to write a Young Adult novella featuring one of the characters from “The King’s Ransom.”
