Why you must read CA Iverson’s Sisters of the Blood
Tess Edwards is an angry young woman. She is angry about her parents splitting up. Against her best friend Sammy Taylor’s advice, she attends a party with a group of teenagers with questionable character. At the party, drugs and alcohol flow freely. She meets Cheri Parkins and her gang. Cheri is a girl with no morals, is sexually uninhibited and has no scruples. After someone slips some sort of drug into Tess’s drink, she experiences terrifying hallucinations that are so real that she could swear that she was in the pit of hell. In one of the hallucinations, she is attacked by some sort of wolf. But after she leaves the party and sleeps off the drugs and alcohol, she continues to have dreams and visions. Before long, she can no longer distinguish between fantasy and reality. With her life falling apart before her eyes, she reaches out to Doctor Herman Nelson, a professor at a local college who specializes in the paranormal, especially lycanthropy. He gets her involved in his support group. This group consists of others with the same problem as hers. After attending her first meeting of the support group, she finds that her life cascades from bad to worse in a very short time. There is something about the support group that she just doesn’t trust. When she turns to her father for answers, she enters into another world, a world of terror that she may never be able to escape from. What genre is it? In the vein of?
