Hi Addison. What is Someone to Love about?

Hello! First, thank you so much for hosting me! It’s a pleasure to be here. Someone to Love is a contemporary romance that focuses on two college students and their quest for love. The jacket blurb reads as follows:

Someone to Love is a light, sexy read that is far more naughty than it ever is nice.

What happens when two people who don’t believe in love, happen to fall madly into the most beautiful relationship they could ever imagine? A train wreck.

When twenty-year-old Kendall Jordan transfers clear across country to Garrison University, the last thing she’s looking for is a one-night stand. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what, gorgeous, Cruise Elton offers.

Kendall has long since come to realize that love is an illusion that never lasts, and Cruise couldn’t agree more—but something deep inside her wants him all for herself. So, Kendall devises a seat of the pants plan to “play the player” and proposes that Cruise tutor her in becoming a female version of himself, Garrison University’s own playboy.

Real feelings begin to emerge, and neither Kendall nor Cruise know how to classify them. Everything they once thought they knew is redefined as they discover, in one another, Someone to Love.

What genre is it?
Someone to Love is my first New Adult contemporary romance. New Adult novels generally focus on women and men in their college years, which I think is a fun and fascinating season in anybody’s life!

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
I think Someone to Love will appeal to all romance readers, and especially those who like a little more heat in their romance novels. Rather than having closed door romantic interludes I opted for open door scenes. I think it adds an exciting element to be able to read in detail what transpires during intimate moments.

Complete this sentence for us: If you like________________, you’ll love Someone to Love.
Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines.

Kendall Jordan is quite jaded and cynical about love, which seems to us to be quite rare in fictional heroines. In what other ways would you say she and Cruise Elton stand out?
I think both Kendall and Cruise are an extreme to an extent. For me, that added to the tension between the two of them and provided for some fun banter. I’m a big fan of banter, especially of the sexual variety.

Your Young Adult paranormal romance Celestra series has built up a legion of fans. Can you tell us about it?
Oh, wow, legion. I like that word. That very kind of you to say! I have the best readers that an author could ever ask for. It’s their enthusiasm for the books that has bled over to their friends and family and created a readership for the series that has truly humbled me. To have their word of mouth and support has been worth more than gold. I love to keep in touch with my readers as well, and I’ll respond to everyone I’m able to. I owe my readers everything.

The series’ main character, Skyla Messenger is a heroine we can all root for. Can you tell us a bit more about her and the men in her life.
Thank you for that. I really like Skyla. She’s fatally flawed in more than one way and I think that’s why I relate to her the most. Truthfully everything that can go wrong for Skyla will, and she ultimately has zero control over anything. I think that’s why so many of my readers do root for her because they see so much of their own reality in that as well.

As for the men in her life, Skyla Messenger is my luckiest character ever. First there is Logan Oliver, who would move heaven and earth to protect her and ultimately give up his own relationship with her to do so. There is Gage, her soulmate who loves her to unfathomable depths. His affection for her makes my heart writhe in agony in a good way. And finally, there is Marshall. Marshall is her rock, her go-to guy whenever she’s in a pinch. And have I mentioned all three are hawt to a wicked extreme? So not fair to the rest of us.

You’ve sold the movie rights for the series. That’s really exciting, isn’t it?
Super exciting! When I was approached by 20th Century Fox to option the film rights for Celestra I had just put out the second book in the Celestra series. I was floored and nervous and just about every other emotion you could possibly feel. I had to wait almost six months to share the news with my readers so that was a bit difficult. Overall, it’s been an amazing experience. I had the opportunity to go to the Fox studio out in L.A. and meet with one of the producers and that was an amazing experience.

We can’t wait to see how Hollywood interprets it. This isn’t exactly a question, but we just wanted to say that the books have absolutely gorgeous covers.

Thank you!!! My husband designs all of my covers. I’m very tough to work with in that respect, lol! I like to have the first and last say, but he’s been an angel in working with me until I think the cover is where its supposed to be. The covers take almost as much time as the books themselves to put together because I’m very particular, but I think it’s reasonable considering it’s the first phase in marketing.

You left us hanging at the end of Toxic Part Two. When is the next book in the series coming out? And what can you tell us about it?
Ha! Did you expect anything less? I jest, it was particularly cruel as far as cliff hangers go. I will say, that the best part is, it’s the very last Celestra cliff hanger ever. I am moving Skyla to a New Adult series once Celestra is through and I won’t say too many details about the series because it involves a few spoilers to the final book, but it will be steamier in nature. The New Adult series is where Celestra and The Countenance series collide. So that will be a lot of fun for readers of both series.

It sounds very daring pulling it all together. Tell us about you. Are you a very daring person?
Well, I’m pretty boring. I write. A lot. My daily schedule looks something like this: edit a book in the morning, write a book in the evening. Somewhere in between is my so-called life, which consists of dishes and laundry and people of all ages complaining about my cooking. True story.

Have you got a blog or website where readers can keep up with your work? How can we follow you on Facebook and/or Twitter?
Yes! And I also encourage readers to reach out and ask me anything or just say hello. The best place to do that is my facebook wall, then my blog. Emails get lost the easiest, but that’s a traffic issue I can’t seem to get under control.

What’s next?
What isn’t next? Lol! I have my final Celestra book, ELYSIAN coming out this spring. In February ETHEREAL KNIGHTS, (which is Ethereal rewritten through the male point of view). And then I have book 2 in the Countenance Series, EVANESCNT ready for serious edits. And two more New Adult romances coming out before summer. It’s a really exciting and busy season in my life but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m in love with what I do and my beautiful readers make it all worth while.
