The Shadow Rider – A Crooked Piece of Time is about Louis Parker, a Motorcycle Riding & Travel Blogger that leads a secret double life as a paid assassin for hire. His partner in crime, Nathan Malone, was his CIA Controller when they worked for the agency.

During their normal course of business, Nathan learns that he is the target of an impending Hit, placed on him by his former CIA Boss, which is now the Speaker of the House.

While Louis and Nathan root out the details of the hit, they discover they are part of a much larger conspiracy / coup which could lead to the assassination of the President and Vice President, by those who would succeed them under the Constitution; the President Pro Tempor of the Senate and the Speaker of the House.

The clock is already well under way toward the final stage of the coup when Louis & Nathan get engaged in in the plot, and must uncover the end goal and the means to the end, without involving the FBI or Secret Service, as the Speaker has co-conspirators in every part of the government.

Tell us about Louis and Nathan.
Louis Parker is a Army Ranger and Special Operations Veteran, that was drawn into CIA Operations. He has Severe P.T.S.D., though treated by the VA for years, he’s received no relief from symptoms. His wife Diane is the only soft point in his life, and the his long-term deception that was originally to protect her, is slowly destroying the underpinnings of his relationship with her.

Nathan Malone was Louis’ Operational Controller/Handler at CIA. They both left government service yeas ago, though Nathan is still a part time contractor for the Agency as well as the DOJ.

The good news is that this is part of a series.
There are two more in The Shadow Rider series in the pipeline; the predecessor and the follow-up to A Crooked Piece of Time.

P.T.S.D? Tell us about it – how and why?
I’m an Army Veteran, Disabled. I’ll leave this part at that for now, but will expand on it in the Non-Fiction offering.

Tell us about your life now.
I’m in Information Technology Senior Management, at a Pharmaceutical Formulation and Development company. I play several musical instruments and learning violin now, just because I find it to be so difficult; I tend to seek out really difficult things to master.

Give us another example.
I’m a Competitive Long-Distance Motorcyclist and member of the Iron Butt Association. I’ve ridden from the beach at Jacksonville, FL to the beach at San Diego, CA., which took me 39 hours and 3 minutes, start to finish, with signed and certified witness statements.

Wow.
What else should we know about you?
I have two grown children, a wonderful son-in-law and three healthy and happy grandchildren.

We hear you’re a bit of a tough guy too.
I hold advanced Black Belts in TaeKwonDo, HapKiDo and Judo. And working toward mastership of Krav Maga.

What’s next?
The Non-Fiction book, then the predecessor to A Crooked Piece of Time and then the follow up. I have a couple of others coagulating in the back room of my mind.

How easily do new storylines come to you? If we give you four random words – Man, Woman, Mexico, Future – can you give us a brief storyline?
When my muse is awake, she’s pretty fast.

So what does she say about our words?
A man travels into the future to locate the women he plans to marry, to find out if their life together will work out. He finds they live on the Gulf Coast of Eastern Mexico, with their six children and fourteen grandchildren. He travels back to the present and writes it all down in a Book Of Our Life, a wedding gift for her. She and everyone else thinks its fiction, but she learns over a life together that it is all true.
