My first novel AWOKEN is a supernatural romance, it is the first novel in the Shadowed Veil series and I am currently writing book two in the instalment. It follows the life of Grace O’Callaghan who is deeply traumatised by the untimely death of her father. With the introduction of Beau, a handsome but somewhat peculiar boy Grace begins to experience things that are unexplainable and unearthly. Beau has a gift that drags her deep into a world unbeknown to the average person, a world that leads her to the conclusion that maybe death isn’t final. Spiralling and unable to stop It, Grace finds herself trapped with only the sadistic spirit of a serial killer for company. My novel has creepy twists and turns, laughs, love and horror at its best.

What kind of readers will it appeal to?
I have been fortunate to have received an amazing response from those that have read it on Amazon and I’ve been happily surprised the variation in its readership, with ages varying from 13 – 86 both male and female.
It has been said to me that fans of books such as the Stephanie Meyer novels and Rachel Caine collections would like my series.

Tell us a little more about Grace and Beau.
Grace is Awoken’s protagonist. The story jumps in with her battle of dealing with her father’s untimely death and the recurring nightmares she has as a result. Never a grade-A or cheerleader type at school/college she happily blended into the background. Her father’s death has lead her to create a shell around her emotions, she has a natural sense of humour and a sometimes sarcastic approach to life. She lives with her younger brother Cary – who is university level smart and built for a life of excellence, but who loves nothing more than to drive her up the wall – as any younger sibling does. When Grace meets Beau her deep feelings towards him are somewhat foreign and confusing. She has to learn to open her heart and possibly fight off the bad that inevitably comes with the good.
Beau is handsome, smart, polite – common traits of what we expect a leading guy to posses, but beneath his well put together exterior Beau is hiding a secret – a secret that has haunted him since the unexplainable death of his parents when he was a toddler. Much like Grace does towards him he feels a sense of devotion and a need to protect Grace. He too mirrors Grace’s feelings of shutting yourself
off from the world. The growing love between them opens their hearts but also opens a door to life-threatening danger, to loss, and ultimately to possible death.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I live in London and I work as a hair, makeup and special effects artist in the entertainment industry. I have always loved to read and am so happy that I can offer something to others that feel the same. We have two original book trailers for Awoken on YouTube and will be starting work on the next one shortly. Two of my all time favourite novelists are Stephen King and Dean Koontz but I also enjoy reading up to date fiction novels from authors such as Linwood Barclay and Rachel Caine.
What’s next?
ASCEND – the second novel in the shadowed veil series should be ready for human consumption within the next five months. We are also already working on the second set of book trailers with a great cast and crew already being chosen.
